Holy cow...that is alot of people!!! Can your venue hold that many? I read somewhere that just in case you should double check because of fire hazards and other things.

OMG!! that is a lot of people!! I thought my 220 was bad!

I wouldn't see the harm in asking..hey maybe they will throw something extra in if they dont lower the ppp

wow ... a lot can happen from now until your official invitations go out so that is something to consider. our rule of thumb was if we havent spoken/seen the person (depending on the situation) in the past year socially they were not on the guest list. that still goes up until the wedding (std sent or not). relationships change saddly ... in an instant!

and remember 20% wont come ...

Yikes!

No harm in asking!

Or in making a final round guest list cut.....we had over 200 and are inviting 160. we have a B List of about 15

I don't know, doesn't hurt to ask. Maybe they will throw in a bunch of extras because that is a lot of money they will be making

I originally overestimated the guest list, then chopped a whole bunch of people off, then underestimated who would need to be invited.

Honestly, I wouldn't be concerned about the guaranteed minimum.

390 people on your guest list, but figure that at least 15-20% won't be able to make it to your wedding, which brings it down to 320 or so guests, and even more may not be able to make it. 250 minimum sounds about right.

You may want to try to negotiate again with FT once your invites are out and RSVP's are in to try and get a better deal, but I wouldn't up the guaranteed minimum right now.

We did!! I think right now we are at 220 if everyone said yes, we would be in trouble...I think we are going to invite the top 180 and then hit the B-list! We guaranteed 175, but I think you can definitely re-negotiate on price and minimums. They are going to be glad to have you all :)

like the girls said - definitely no harm in asking.

After we picked the place we took into account how many people could comfortabley fit in there and that's what we based out number on. We used that red pen a lot but looking at the list the way it is now, these are the people we want there to celebrate with us - this isn't a time to invite everyone we've ever known but the people that are there for us all the time. Our ideal number would be 150... our guest list is 178 and we already know a hand full of people that are not coming right off the bat but are getting a courtesy invite so we are really starting at around 168ish

Yup. We originally guaranteed 100. Final guest list is 385.

They ended up giving us the bigger room, but nothing got thrown in.

wow!!!
I would think they will definitely work with you as long as they can hold that many people. It's more money for them!

Definitely re- evaluate your list and who you know is a definite and try to up your minimum so you could prepare ahead , and ummmm PRAY FOR NO'S!!! LOL
Funny FH and I had a fight about cutting our list tonight.... long story short I'd love to but there is etiquette and umm some men see $$$ and dont care...LOL

we guaranteed 170 and are inviting 220. There's a bunch of people we couldn't invite because it wasn't within budget. I know they say 20% will respond 'no' but what if they respond 'yes'. I just couldn't take the risk.
