A few weeks ago I had lost 5 lbs and put up a posting in celebration. Now I've gained 3 of the 5 back somehow!
I need to lose 15 lbs by my Sept 29th wedding. I'm 148 lbs. right now.
Since dating FH I've gained almost 10 lbs!!!!
I have a hard time staying motivated especially when I'm magically PUTTING ON weight. Grrrr!!!
Help me motivate! I dread going to the gym sometimes & think of excuses not to go!! I admit it!
I need to do more of these

Re: Ok girls, help me motivate!
dont worry about pounds...its more about the inches your taking off your waist and body and not so much the pounds. People get so fixated on how many pounds they lose when in reality the inches you lose on your waist and body is whats more important...... plus scales lie
You started this routine because you want to slim down and maintain a healthy body and thats all that matters, you started something and theres no turning back now! you can do it!

Re: Ok girls, help me motivate!
go to the gym...sorry but thats it....no excuses
I am stilla bigger girl than I wanted to be for my wedding, I have come to accept that...
Bring your clothes in the car with you to work (if you commute by car) and JUST GO right after work.
Bring your gym clothes to work with you if you work in the city, or get off a subway stop before and hike it.
I would also join curves...I worked there once upon the time, did the workout and was in the best shape of my life...and it is only 30 minutes and the da mn routine is laid out for you!
YOU CAN DO IT!!! don't slack like I did until three months before!
Oh and my personal trainer tells me...no alcohol...none....it makes you bloated and ruins your hard work...I didn't listen...but maybe you will!

Re: Ok girls, help me motivate!
I have a membership at NYSC and the thing is once I get there and start working out I feel good. Afterwards I'm like, hmm that wasn't so bad! Getting there is the majority of the battle. WHY is that????
I eat healthy and I'm really careful about not eating junk. So I know that's not the main problem.
I used to LOVE working out and I did 5-6 times a week! I think that's because I was single and felt I had to look my best to snag a man. Now that I've snagged him I've just been stuck in a motivational rut for quite sometime and the timing couldn't be worse!
Thanks for your encouragement! Keep it comin!!

Re: Ok girls, help me motivate!
FH laughs at me b.c I'll go but I'll whine the whole time!
From the time I get home and get changed I'm one big whiner. I'll complain till the second I walk out the door. I hate going but I do and then when I'm done I feel better I went.
I do a 30 minute circuit workout and it's great. I definitely work up a sweat so it must be doing something!

LOL I whine and complain too! FH is so patient with me. I must be so annoying. He works out almost every day.

Re: Ok girls, help me motivate!
exercise is definitely the most important thing. have you ever tried weight watchers? you can sign up to do the online version for 3 months for about $60 (no meetings, just access to all the online resources). it's good because you can still eat a variety of food (nothing is cut out entirely) you just have to write down everything and count it. and going to the gym adds points back to your day so it's a great motivator!

Aw don't worry! It makes sense you would slow down or even gain some back because muscle weighs more than fat.. so if you have been at the gym, you can still be losing fat but gaining muscle.. Anyways.. goodluck, I need some self-discipline too.

You're doing great!
Just remember that you are doing this for yourself and to be healthy.
Pack your gym clothes and put them in the car in the morning when you leave for work. Picture yourself on your wedding and how good you'll look and it'll be a great motivator for you.
I also don't get on the scale so much, but gauge based on how my clothes fit. The scale kinda scares me.

Re: Ok girls, help me motivate!
everyone is righ -- muscle weighs more, so maybe that's why you saw a chang on the scale. the trainer at my gym won't weight people when it's snowing or raining out -- she says the added pressure from the wet weather makes you weigh more somehow. did you weight yourself over the weekend with all the crazy weather?
I have to jump on the 'stay motivated' band wagon with you!! I find I am so good for a week with eating and going to the gym. Then my FH I go out and one night can ruin it for me. Why is that? I wish I could eat whatever I wanted I think I need to try hanging up some sort of picture like above to get my butt in gear. Actually I should already be kicked in gear I tried on some bathing suits last weekend then just walked out the store -- you'd think that would be enough motivation
