I'm having our favoriter HM friends over to out house on Sat. They got married the same day as us and went to Sandals St lucia regency as well. We've been like best friends with them ever since! We went to their house a few weeks ago for the first time and now they're coming to ours. I was going to serve: -Wine & Champage -Veggies & dip in my 5 section tray I bought at Fortunoffs! -Cheese in my aweome new cheese board!!! [Munster Cheese & Chedder cheese...is that good?] -Chips
Do you think I can mix that stuff with baked goods? Like maybe brownies or cupcakes or pound cake or does it not go? I wanna go all out...LOL...I just love having so much food out and being a good hostess!!!
Or....me and the girl drink champagne [and wine] should I mske chocolate covered strawberries????
My mom said I have serve grapes near the cheese? WHY???
Lol help me out girls with any suggestions!!!

maybe you can get something from a deli or a place get a few trays if you dont want to cook, or get ones premade and just heat it up, stuff like
Spring rolls
Bruschetta is very easy to make yourself
dumplings (theres places you can buy them from and just heat it up)
maybe like a spinach and cheese dip with pita chips, thats very filling
you can also do mozzarella and tomato and drizzle some virgin olive oil and balsamic vinaigrette on top, very easy to do

i think if you're gonna do cheese, maybe serve some brie or something. it's a little fancier. (not that there's anything wrong with cheddar or meunster - heck, i love all cheeses! )

Brie is sooo good with wine and maybe a good bread sliced. I love Olive bread and/or grapes with cheese. See if you have a place near you that sells fresh cheeses. I always go to a local bakery to pick up pastries for coffee time and breads to have out with the cheese. Happy hosting!!! I love hosting too. FH thinks I'm crazy because I get really neurotic about how I like things set up.

you can do some warm finger foods like mini quiches, moz sticks, and of course deserts. Choc covered strawberries is always nice with wine or champagne. I wouldn't do brownies though.... maybe something like fancy cookies and other fruits since it sounds like a 'light' kind of night.

If you want to do something sweet, I would go to Stop and Shop and pick up a fruit platter that comes with yougurt dip... spread it out on a nice tray, put the dip in a nice dish, add toothpicks and I think you have a very nice 'sweet' dish. It's always a guarentee and I hardly ever host anything fancy-ish without it.

You can get some nice frozen appetizer type thingies from BJ's or Costco's. Also there's a fruit tray from Stop n Shop w/ chocolate dip!

brie is a soft kind of spreadable fancy cheese - it's REALLY good. serve it with some nice crackers or hard bread. maybe throw some strawberries in. you can also top brie with a lot of things like fruit - it's really good when you put some brown sugar and walnuts on top.
