Ok, goin out today for more house hunting

not that i want to, cause we always come home empty handed.. but i am going to take a 2nd look at one house and to an open house somewhere else..

i have my 3 year old nephew so maybe they will take pitty on me if they think we have a kid!

Hi ladies,
house hunting was a bust... one house was 1075 square feet and it was 369K and my parents and frank and I could barely fit in the house it was so tight, another house was the same price and it was a COMPLETE handyman special so bad it would need to be totally regutted and to top it off there was no garage..

I have no idea how we will find a house and have children anytime soon.

What town are you looking in? There are 2 houses for sale in my area of Huntington. One is going for $369 and the other is $299. They are split level ranches. Pretty sure both are 3 bdr and 2 ba. around 1/3 acre. Most likely taxes under 5K.

Don't worry - It will happen. You end up seeing so much crap befor you find the perfect house, but you WILL FIND IT

KAthysMOH.. I am looking in franklin square.. I wanted to be close to my family.. however I am having serious doughts about it now.. the prices are so outragous..

Suzanne: I feel your pain. DH and I went looking at houses on Saturday.

Honestly, during the first half of the 20th Century (which is when all the homes we've looked at were built), were there a lot of little people? I had no problem (I'm 5'3), but DH is about 6'2 and all these homes were way too small for him! (had to bend down to go down the stairs, into the basement, etc.)

You will fine your dream house I promise!!! There is one across from my brother that is for sale in Floral Park.

Here is the MLS listing. I don't know what your price range is but the block is nice and it is close to the train (if you or DH needs that)

I grew up in NHP, parents are still there. It would be nice to be so close to them, but you are right the prices are outrageous. The drive isn't so bad from here. I keep on waiting for my mom to retire in hopes that she will move closer to us. She commutes to city every day so would be crazy for her to move just yet. Schools here are great. My sister is buying a very small house in Port Washington for 400. I think she is crazy. HOpefully the prices will go down soon for you.
