Ok this may seem like a stupid question...but what is an actual trunk show? Im picturing like trunks flying open with wedding dresses flying everywhere!!! lol A bit dramtic I know! :) Are they worth it? How are they organized? size wise? Can you walk right out with it? Or do you have to order it? Any trunk brides out there??? Get back to me please! Thanks! Lindsay

Re: Ok ...... has anyone been to a trunk show??
LOL, I used to think the same thing about the 'trunk show' I wanted to see old trunks like your grandmother's attic. Trunk shows are simply a 'sneak preview' of the upcoming line of a designers dresses. Often, the bridal salon which is hosting the show will offer special discounting when you purchase during the show so yes, it is worth it. Sizing depends because these dresses are usually the ones worn by the models during the runway video (at least thats what Jim Hjelm and Lazaro do). For more information, I would call the bridal salon which is hosting the show. FM me if you need anymore info.

Yes, I have been to one. It was great- I went to a Jim Hjelm, Lazaro trunk show at Bridal Reflections. It was the whole collection for 2008. I tried on all types of dresses and the person who showed the collection was super helpful and paid a lot of attention to what looks good on me and what didn't. I ended up purchasing my dress on the spot and got a discount!

I went to a trunk show at Macy's Bridal Salon by Demetrios. I had no idea what it meant either. I got a 15% discount on my dress, tiara and veil!!! I was still overbudget but at least not as much LOL :)
