had a LONG talk w my dad over the past 2 days. He wants us to have this wedding...at Land's End for a reasonable amount of people..150ish.
Mom's gonna blow bc he feels they should help, as should Ant's family if they can...but my parents are both retired so their situation isn't the same as it was years ago.
Plus, I was married before and had a BIG wedding and my Mom doesn't feel like she should have to pay for this one...and I agree with her. But my Dad really loves Anthony and feels like he deserves a wedding.
so anyway last night my dad told me to give him the budget with everything broken down and he'll look it over and then maybe we'll all sit down (both families)
strangely, he said, 'dont let people pay for individual things. You want to control your money otherwise Uncle Otto may never complete the deal and you'll be stuck without a dj...or you'll be stuck w a dj that only plays reggae' um...uncle Otto? lol
anyway, the conv moved to mortgages etc and i started having heart palpitations and changed the subject.
so that's where I am. this will be soon I think.
in the meantime, I;m just sorta sitting back and trying to enjoy the engagement for a while without dealing w the stress of booking anything until this is ironed out.

You are planning a wedding - and part of planning is finding a place. You and Anthony are just trying to get your ish together and you are on that path. PLUS all the planning the rest of us are doing im sure is helping you out.

Don't feel like that. You still have time. And, if you don't end up getting married in 2011 you can still get married, it doesn't have to be right now if swinging it is going to stress you out so much. Remember what being engaged is about and take a breath and step away from the stress for a little while. It will all work out!

that would be great if ur dad could help you out......i understand how u feel about not having a BIG wedding again since u already did it, i felt that way about my eparty but its true they deserve a wedding too......do what's in ur budget and what u 2 can afford, honestly ur parents rnt helping then they really cant say nething....but if they r then u hafta at least be open to their ideas (i just yes my parents and future inlaws to death...and say ill think about it)
