So our contract includes a 170 person minimum which is about how many people we want, 170-175. Based on whatever the crazy equation is, or based on your own experience with RSVPs and stuff, how many people should I be aiming to invite??

usually 20 percent dont come or at least that is the rule i hear.....If you invite 210 I think you should be fine

based on a target of 175 guests and a 20% no rate, you should invite about 219 people

Can you put your list together and try to estimate Yes, No, Maybes? I think that you will have 10-15% that won't come (I think thats what my RH said) but at same time, mabye do a A, B, C list so you can add/remove people as the day gets closer?
We actually negotiated our minimum way lower than we expect now so definitely over by approx. 35 people!
