Ok, I need to start thinking about vendors now....so here's my first, photography....
Original post by prncssrachel
Not that we are going to book someone right away, but we need to start thinking about it, and I have NO IDEA where to start. I want photojournalistic style, rather than traditional posed pictures, and I don't want to spend like 13,000 dollars on pictures, but I also don't want to spend too little. AND I would like to know if anyone knows of a photographer who does not do packages. You can buy the proofs and just enlarge what you want. THANK YOU IN ADVANCE! I know that was loaded!

Rachel - I'm using a non-traditional photographer because that's exactly what we were looking ofr....he's the father to one of my students from last year. he's not a 'wedding photographer' persay, but he does do weddings. normally, he's a college professor and a magazine photojournalist... if you'd like his information, FM me and I can get it to you.

Well, so far I like what I see on the Patken website. If possible, could someone who is using them please FM me with how much they are paying, I would really appreciate it! Thanks!

Viewpoint Photography in Huntington. They do not do packages - you buy a certain coverage (# of hours) and depending on the level, get a 'credit' to spend on whatever you want (enlargements, any size/type album, thank you's, etc).

We are using Silverfox and it is all al a carte. You can pick whatever you want. If you want more after the wedding ie: a bigger album etc. you can always upgrade then! Good Luck in your search

I just want to say thank you to everyone who has responded already! You have all been very helpful so far and I can see it will be a hard task to pick a photographer!
