Re: ok i need to vent and need help.......
you need to talk to her and explain to her that although you would love for her kids to attend, you cant invite kids bc of cost bc it will cost you more obviously if you let everyone bring their kids and room in the RH, if you end up having alot of kids then you'll have more tables. Say that your families and friends theres a large amount of kids and that would be a bit much and you cant make exceptions bc you dont want to hurt anybodies feelings. For us too, if we would've allowed everyone to bring kids, we were looking at anywhere from 40-50 kids and then that just becomes too much. Hopefully she will understand this and you cant bend all the rules and pay more money and do something you dont want to do just bc she has a problem with it.
If you want to work things out with her and help, offer to help her with a babysitter, some get babysitters to stay at the hotel if guests are staying at a hotel.
As your friend, she should understand

you def need to talk to her and explain to her that you don't want children I am pretty sure she could have someone babysit them for just that night? I mean how is she going to be able to attend bridal shower and bachelorette parties? Also keep in mind that this is your wedding!! and it should be the way you want you should def do what makes you happy good luck

If shes really that close to you, she'll understand.
If you have that problem with more than one person you can always hire a babysitter to stay a nearby hotel. Babysitters are pretty cheap.

I am shocked that someone would even comment on 'no kids' being an issue. A wedding is an adult affair...and I really believe it's not a place for kids...except for those extremely close to the bride and groom. My wedding will only include FH's two kids; his two nieces and my 2 cousins. I dont think anyone else would be offended. In fact, most parents dont even want to bring kids! You should nicely explain to her how you have a strict policy and if you make an exception for one person...you'd have to make it for everyone. If she doesnt understand...she is the one with the issue ; )

thats what i said too, i mean when i have kids and they are very young, i have no plans of bringing them with me to weddings. And its funny bc alot of ppl complain if you dont invite kids but most dont put in for their kids, i think most think its free.
It is ridiculous, i cant believe the drama that occured. There were also some people of DH's side that all rsvp'd just 1, meanwhile theyre married and wrote on our response cards 'we have no babysitter so my husband cant attend your wedding' this was after we heard things they were saying. So yeah from what i know, a few ppl decided to protest in a way by coming alone. meanwhile its funny bc some had family members on their husbands side who watches the kids when they need them to but they wanted to teach us a lesson i think

I'm having that problem with FBIL. He wants to bring his daughter who will be 5.. I told hiim there won't be any children under 12 at the wedding. He is constantly asking for us to make an exceptiong. But if I make that exception and let her come, how does that look to the rest of thr guests who were told to leave their children at home?

I don't understand why this would be a problem. You are giving her more than enough notice to get a babysitter. It is your wedding and if you do not want kids at the wedding then there should be no kids.
