Ok, I THINK I JUST GAVE MYSELF FOOD POISENING.....

I used an egg, just one, in cookies that I just made and I ate one. The problem is, I don't know how long the eggs have been in the fridge I think like 2 months now that I think about it. They didn't smell funny or look funny, but I'm scared now! How long do eggs keep???????

i think a few weeks at least..i bought some in late august and they said sept 25th....you don't have the box anymore do you?? usually its stamped on....

i always put them in the refrigerator but then tear off that paper and stick in it with them too to remind myself!

OMG! I just read the date on the eggs and I am not even going to post what it said because it was THAT long ago! WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME????!!!!!! HOW DID I NOT READ THE DATE!?

If they didn't smell funny, I wouldn't worry about it. The date on the carton is the sell by date, not the use by date. I've had eggs in my fridge for months and used them and never had a problem. As long as it didn't look or smell funky, I'm sure you're fine.

Just in case you're worried, don't eat the rest of the cookies!

They dfinitely did NOT look or smell funny, but on the safe side, I threw the cookies and left over eggs away. THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU'RE ON A DIET AND TRY TO EAT A COOKIE! It's FATE!

don't let yourself get siock - i know i have a tendency for that - if somehting tastes funny i 'make' myself nauseous, etc....i am sure that they were fine - the shell didn't look weird i am sure and i shoudl have said before that thats the sell by date - but there is plenty of wiggle room - i am sure you have been keeping them in the fridge so you should be ok....maybe throw out the cookies though just in case now....although that would be the hard part for me!

I probably won't even know the difference if I DO get sick because my stomach is all messed up from my little friend anyway! I should have just eaten them Actually, I was making them for JT, but just as well, he has a sensitive stomach.

I don't think you have anything to worry about.....eggs stay good long after the date and one egg in an entire batch of cookies in a very hot oven is not going to hurt you!!! I think you are safe!!
