OK IM FREAKED OUT

I just went out our back door which leads to where our cars are to get some gifts out of my trunk (going to aunt's house for chanukah party and have to wrap them)

right at the bottom of our back step there was

DOG POOP
DEAD BIRD

we dont own a dog and why is there a dead bird on our step?????

FH is sleeping but im freaked out about this

OMG L, I would be freaked out about this too. Are there alot of loose dogs in your neighborhood?

Re: OK IM FREAKED OUT

i guess maybe a dog could have dropped it there but it is in one piece - a WHOLE dead bird

there are not many loose dogs, no
that is why it is very weird

Iggh....make FH get rid of it. Be careful with the dead bird. Make him wear gloves and use a shovel.

Sorry...I would be a little freaked by that too. I agree with the girl above who said a dog probably left the bird there. Don't worry.

hmnn, so if the nird is teeth mark free and in one piece do you think they are connected? is it possible a neighbors pup got loose relieved him/herself as the owner was yelling for it? Bird died and landed there.

Or maybe the bird died landed on your stoop and the dog, was trying to mark the stoop as his 'spot' not the birds?

that is bizarre, but I think it's just a very strange coincidence. I'd be freaked out too

Re: OK IM FREAKED OUT

This was something I read from 2005, but maybe you can call them.

Any dead birds should be reported to the Nassau County Health Department or the New York State Health Department. It is important to provide a specific location of dead birds. They may be collected by the health department and tested for the presence of West Nile virus. The Dead Bird Reporting Hotline is 1-866-537-BIRD

Good luck.
