Ok Im giving in...Re: Pugs

So my FH has wanted a pug all of his life and although it is not my dog of choice (I love all dogs, I just always wanted a lab) I am considering getting him one as a wedding present. I think it woud mean alot to him becuase he knows how much I want a lab. Anyway, I will check out petfinder but does anyone have any recommendations of where to get a baby/puppy? I don't want an older dog and I would like to adopt one rather than get one from a breeder. Also, is there anythin I should know about having a pug? any concerns? TIA!

Check out these sites, do TRY to rescue one, there are sooo many animals that need homes, I don't know how easy it will be to find a small puppy though (most given for rescue that young have health problems). One tip also, is to check with local pet stores for 'reject puppies' I used to manage a pet store, and even the slightest health issue like a luxating patella or a grade I/II heart murmor made the dog rejectable and we would just adopt them out. If they have these problems in a low grade, they most likely will grow out of it, you should always be able to see the Vet report from a reputable place. My brother has a Springer Spaniel, My mom took a golden Retreiver, I also placed a SHiba Inu, Pomeranian, and a Lab with family, they are all great, and have No issues now as an adult! You can also put requests into shelters and rescue organizations, and they can let you know when they have available what you are looking for.
