OK ladies - going to start booking trials....need help!

Alright, so here's the deal: I grew up in Toronto (in case ya didn't know yet ) but back home we had these two women who did our hair and make up for EVERYTHING: family bar and bat mitzvahs, prom, my brother's wedding...the works.

Originally my dad thought it would be cool to have them fly in to do me for my wedding since they know me so well and watched me grow up. Unfortunately that isn't going to happen so I need to look into hair and make up here.

Again, as with everything else, I don't know where to start. I want my hair and make up to look natural and classic, nothing overdone. I don't want to say price isn't an issue but as long as someone isn't charging like $500+ for the bride or whatever, I'm open to any and all suggestions! Send 'em my way, and if its someone who isn't a vendor here or you don't want to post, FM me for my email!

This is really going to be the toughest thing for me because I've never had to try people out before, I always knew who was going to do my hair and make up and I am a little sad that these two women I know so well can't be there. So also if your hair and make up people are really friendly and personable that definitely helps!

For hair I would definitely check out Stacy Pitt, www.stylesonb.com, and for makeup Sally Duval. They usually work together so if you go to Stacy's website she has Sally's info on there as well.
Unforunately, Stacy was already booked for my wedding day, but I have a trial with Sally next Saturday.
A coworker of mine is using them for her hair and makeup and all of the reviews I've read say they are absolutely amazing!
Look at NY Magazine in their vendor section also. Since you are getting married in Manhattan they usually won't charge you any travel fees.

andrea from lola loves makeup is great! you should try her out! also, a lot of people on here recommend oksana for makeup. i didn't have a trial with her bc she was already booked on my date but people are always talking about how great she is!
