OK Ladies - tell me what you Liked and Didn't Like about your Bridal Shower - I'm a MOH and hosting one this July

My best friend is getting married in September and I'm planning a shower for her in July.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated - were the games too long? Boring? What kind of opening-the-presents games did you play? How was your FMIL and Mom involved? I don't want them to feel left out.

My games were fun.... I had 3 games, should of had 2 because I had soooo many gifts that I was kind of rushed opening them.

Stick to 2 games.

We did bridal bingo at my shower - it was good b/c it keeps people from becoming board while the bride opens her presents. Each person was given a blank bingo sheet where they could write down possible gifts in all the boxes. Than as I was opening my presents each guest would cross off the gift on their bingo sheet as I recieved them. Whoever got bingo was given a prizes (lottlo tickets, gift certificates, ect.)

We also had a game called Who Knows The Bride. There were about 20 questions about me in multiple choice form (if i could live anywhere, if i could eat any type of food, ect.). WHoever got the most right also recieved a prize.

They were fun games and kept everyone entertained. Good Luck!

We didn't have any games at my shower which I actually liked - a little different from the usual.

I did attend a shower a few yrs ago where they had audience participation games, I hated them!! You had to get up in front of everyone and draw pics, etc, even if you didn't volunteer.

I know a lot of ppl hate attending showers and watching the bride open up gifts, but I don't mind As long as it's within a reasonable amount of time!

I did not have my shower yet but I planned my girlfriends shower a few years ago and Bridal Shower Bingo was such a hit. It definately keeps people from getting bored while the bride opens up the gifts. I also used this game to give away the centerpieces -- a few people won. I actually created the cards myself based on her registry -- somewhat time consuming but worth it.

My MOH made me a veil which was so fun to wear...and we had a 'couple shower' which I loved but you'd have to ask the bride if she would like that some girls really want a traditional shower.
