ok ladies, what is the difference between white and diamond white?
I have been tryin gto compare the too and I really dont see a difference!
am I crazy??
the dress I want only comes in gold ( which i tried on and actually loved but I am afraid it will look to dark in pics) diamond white or white.
can anyone help me out?

Diamond White is an off white which works well with silk dresses. It is between white and ivory, sometimes known as antique white. White is a pure white or bright white. HTH

what dress? my dress is gold too with diamond white lace over it some companies call their ivory 'diamond white'
its not as stark white as reg. white

My dress is a Sottero- Midgley I tried it on gold/pewter accents and loved it ( before lydia at liliettes even had it on me!)
I am afraid it will loose the detail of the lace accents if I went to white or diamond white ( it doesnt come in ivory).
I do love gold BUT I dont want it to come out too dark in pics...

My dress is diamond white. it is still white but just not as white as pure white and now as off white as ivory. If that makes sense.

They should have a swatch of the color at the store, you should definitely ask them!

Maybe there are other dresses they carry in the store with the same material in the color you are looking to see? Not sure if that made sense

it really depends on the manufacturer. I have just gotten swatches for all the dresses that i wanted to order. Some diamond whites you couldn't tell they were off white, some you could really tell. In the end my dress is diamond white with diamond white lace overlay because the other color besides white was champaigne and the lace they said would be very dark and I was not into that.

thats what i thought also!!
BUT...they had a dress in diamond white, but it didnt have the pewter accents...AND...no swatches bc 'it is a new line and we didnt get it in yet'.
plus...i think every dress would look different...
I sound like a bridezilla...

I know what you mean, the sample of my dress was pale green LOL so talk about being off...but she showed me a very similar dress in ivory to give me an idea

My dress is diamond white and champagne too...Maggie of course...I was lucky to see it in all white cause an 07er took the plunge and ordered it for herself without ever seeing it in all white. It is still beautiful, but I went with the diamond white and champagne anyway. Unless its next to a pure white dress you can barely tell.

kina like off white but not really that yellow tone to it like ivory

I made an appointment to try on the dress again in gold...this time I will take pics and determine whether I like it or not...gold is a harsh word though bc it isnt super gold, just golden undertone...
My MOH and I loved the gold but mom loved it and then questioned the color after talking about it and brought up a good point.
maybe by the time I go they will have another sample with diamond white/pewter.

Pictures will actually make the dress look lighter bc of the flash...Look at my dress in my album, it was a pale green but in the pics you can't tell its really green and in person trust me you could tell it was green from FAR AWAY...ask Jane she can tell you
