My best friend just got married at the Majestic Gardens over the summer. It is very nice. They have a nice outside area. Food was great. The only thing I didnt like was that the bridal suite was very small... Otherwise, a great place.

The only one I checked out while looking was Stuart Manor CC. Very nice, prices were very reasonable, has a kind of old fashion look and feel to it. If I hadn't found East Wind it would have been given serious consideration.
I personally have never attended an affair where Lessings was the caterer and liked the food, so I stayed away from Tall Grass, West Sayville et al. (although quite a number of the LIW girls have been thrilled with their weddings, so take my opinion with a grain of salt) Never made it to Majestic Gardens b/c I fell in love with East Wind, and FH doesn't like the Bellport area in general so we didn't look there.

Stewart Manor CC was our #2 choice. I let Dh decide, because it mattered more to him where we had the reception, but SMCC would have been my choice. My brother's wedding was there and I remember the food being good. the things I liked: One wedding at a time There is sort of a stage area for the band or DJ, so they are not right on the dance floor Has a pretty fireplace Affordable (we were quoted $59 pp for a Sunday in Nov 04) James, the BM, was sooooo nice and helpful I liked that the CH room is open all night, so guests can go in there to get away from the noise if they want - we took family photos there too. Pretty neighborhood - in a residential area, easy to find, but not on a busy street and they have a gazebo in front for photos Near the LIRR station (we had people coming from the city on the train and heading back after the wedding)
I am not sure, but I think the minimum was 100

^Thanks, What is it about lessings;' food?
What stood out about Stuart manor?
Our fav. part of VM is the Firplace to have our table in front of and they have that too! ,
Is it in a good area? We're going to hopefully be 11-08-08(wish us luck)so we'll probley have to do our ceremony indoors (I think we like that better any way)
The ceremony takes place in the same room as the reception, then the guest go out to the CH, then come back is that weird?

My brother was married in Feb. the quote I gave you is the quote we got for last November - but I am sure it is higher now.
I can't answer the ceremony/CH question because his wedding was at church. If you do a search on Bride's review, Xelindrya had her wedding there and there's lots of photos in her review. I think she had the ceremony there too.
The neighborhood is very nice
