Honestly, how expensive is a new baby?
My friend tried to tell me that a baby is not expensive for the first 2 years....

Well....it really depends!! Formula is very expensive (although if you breastfeed you wont have that expense), diapers are very expensive, clothing,toys, it all adds up. Also, will the baby be in daycare? And FT or PT?

There's also extra activities that some parents choose to do with their children even at an early age....swimming lessons, mommy and me, etc....

I don't think I could put a price on my son Yes, the major expenses we have now are diapers and wipes!! But we use coupons and buy in bulk if its cheaper. I breastfeed exclusively, so there's no cost there. The major items like stroller, bassinet, car seat, pack n play, high chair, etc. we got at the shower, so that's an expense we saved on. We did spend quite a bit on his crib, dresser and armoire, but we hope to get many years out of it. And I want to add that we have not bought ONE outfit for him - everyone gives you clothes. We got tons of new outfits, plus lots of hand me downs, which we gladly accept
