my best friend of 16 years father got into a bad motorcycle accident two years ago and is now undergoing back surgery this weekend was suppose 2 be 2 ten hour surgeries one thursday which went good and one monday

however, they found yesterday he has a spinal leak, which is leaking fluid into his lungs so he is going for emergency surgery as we speak

thank you in advance, and for the support it has worked before so hopefully it will work again

just got horrible news on the situation...he came out of surgery with no sensation from his waist down, they wont know if it permanent of not for 48 hours

im like speechless!

Could it be the anesthia...I know after I had my c-sect the epidoral made it so I could not feel my legs and feet..it was the worst..it's takes quite a few hours to wear off

It could just be swelling from the trauma of having surgery on the area... if the swelling presses on the spine, it can cause paralysis, so they have to wait the 48 hours for the swelling to go down enough to see if that's what is causing it or something more serious.
Hopefully that's all it is.
