Ok so now I have pretty much decided on a fingertip length veil. LOVE cathedral but its not a church wedding and really, I don’t need the drama of it and my budget is tight. However, another member, (Jennie, you are AWESOME!) found me a GREAT link to mantilla style veils where she bought hers. I originally wanted a mantilla, but thought it might be too much with my particular dress. The one I tried was also cathedral length and just was a pain. The one I posted below is fingertip length and the lace matches my dress EXACTLY!. It is amazing.
HOWEVER, now I have the issue of will the whole outfit (hair, haircomb, dress and veil) go together? That is my new dilemna.
Ok so this is the mantilla veil….
I would probably wear it over my face like that for the ceremony, but during the reception I'd toss it back..
Will this style compliment the comb and dress? I HAVE to wear the comb at some point during the day because my MOH bought it for me as a gift and it was NOT cheap and were both on budgets. -sighs- So many complications!
I LOVE the veil but I am afraid of overkill. So I need to know if the mantilla is ok or if I should go with something simpler like this: It is the one in the lower left corner with the flower motif.
Please let me know ladies. TY!
FYI: this is my dress Comb: (remember mine is smaller)

Re: Ok New Post-Which wedding veil?
I'm afraid the mantilla style veils would be too much since your gown already has alot of lace detailing... and the gown is so beautiful I would really get something with more subtle detailing.

I love the mantilla, I am wearing a short one, but I am not sure how the comb will fit into that style, could you maybe take the mantilla off half way through the night and then put the comb on?

I know what you're saying, Kristen. The lace actually goes with the dress because it is the same exact lace, but I am concerned about the comb. Mm that's an idea, Jessica. Maybe I can remove the veil after photos?
I mean this is me in a cathedral length mantilla... the lady at the store picked it out for me when i bought the dress but I think the length is too much.
Ok here goes - the mantilla veil you posted is not fingertip length - it is either waltz length (hits at about your knee when it's over your face) or floor length if you just put it at the top of your head like in the second set of pics.
I just don't want you to be disappointed if you decide to go with the mantilla. Personally, I think this length does work with your dress - also I think you were displeased with the cathedral mantilla you tried on because it was just too long and too much - so in that case this new mantilla should be perfect.
I personally prefer the mantilla style veil with your dress as opposed to the simpler veil. I don't think the simpler veil enhances your dress at all - sorry, not meant to offend. I would personally go with the mantilla.
Now with the issue of the hair comb. Here's what I think. I know you have short hair and are thinking of doing loose waves. I would probably convert the hairstyle to a SLIGHT half up do and wear the haircomb SIDEWAYS (like left to right instead of up and down like in the sample pic). That way it would be worn similar to a barrette. If you look at ChrissynRicky's pics, she used a brooch for her hair clip... why not use your haircomb in a similar way. That way you could use the mantilla and the haircomb.

While I LOVE the first one, It may be too much with the detail on the veil and the detail on your dress. And you dont want to take away from your dress. Did you try thm on together? Thats the best way to tell. The second veil is beautiful! I think ti may go better- but again- try tehm on together before you decide!! Im sure no matter what you do, it will look awesome!

Im taking my veil off after the cocktail hour and putting something simple in my hair. I dont want to wear a veil while Im dancing and eating.
