Ok, now its time for us...

Now all our friends and families wedding are over...Its time for FI and I to start thinking about ourselves, and plan our wedding. This weekend we are begining the task of choosing the right reception hall. I was thinking we should do Nassau this weekend (thats where we live) then Suffolk next weekend, Westchester the following, etc. Does that make sense? Does anyone have any good ideas on how to start? Where should I look in Nassau first?

Hi date twin! Congrats on your engagement. I checked out many halls in suffolk and in nassua between Sept - Oct 2004. We were looking for Sunday night with 200 min. guarentee. The pricing may have gone up by now, but if you have specific places in mind I may be able to give you an idea of what you will be quoted!

There are so many beautiful places all across Long Island, You can check out the vendor boards or you can look at the official bride list(post,06 brides), they pretty much have every catering hall on there. Best of luck hunting. Let the chaos begin....

Looking for a reception hall is so much fun...I know FH & I visited almost every catering hall on the island in our price range...Do you know what you are looking for as far as style?? Is there a specific distance that would be considered too far??

I am expecting at least 200 people, I will def be able to guarantee 200. I would love to find the right place that is either in Nassau, or Western Suffolk. I also feel like I've been to so many weddings and I would like to have ours someplace we havent been before. Which rules out:
Floral Terrace, North Ritz, Villa Lombardis, Chateau La Mer, VIP club,Surf Club, Westbury Manor, Woodbury CC, Brentwood CC.....

I would like a Sunday night wedding...Not too far out east, everyone mainly lives in Nassau, but I also have a few people who will be coming in from Westchester and the Jersey Shore. I would love to be someplace on the water...or at least be able to see it, if thats possible

IMO, Carlyle on the Green is GORGEOUS- My girlfriend got married there and it was PERFECT!! She had 235 people, and the room held that very comfortably-

why even bother going to Westchester, there is plenty of halls on LI. You should be able to find something here. Good Luck

good luck searching, i did the same thing i went out 2 saturdays, one was nassau and one was suffolk. theres so many beautiful places

Check out the Roslyn Claremont Hotel! I don't know any other 06 brides that are having it there. Everything is in tip top shape and the food is prepared by the (highly) zagat rated restaurant inside the hotel called Christina's. Chris, the BM is really nice to work with too. If you book with them you get a free honeymoon suite and if you have OOT guests, you can book rooms for them and have breakfast with them the next day. I love the thought that after the reception, I can just go upstairs for the honeymoon night.

We HAD our time for about 8 months and then by brother got engaged and he is getting married before us. Surprisingly, I am not upset...but FH IS!!! SHOCKING!! I didnt expect it from him. Oh well, you cant expect others to put their lives on hold for us
