I just officially went off the pill and I want to make an appt. with my DR to discuss what I should to before getting PG- but what should I ask or do now? I feel so wierd and scared at the same time I feel overly happy and excited about getting PG.
Anyone?????????????????
PS- I went off the pill earlier than I originally wanted to b/c DH is just so very excited and baby obsessed that I decided to start trying a bit earlier than we planned. Thought I'd have more time but I am still very happy!

Have the doctor give you pre-natal pills and then get busy!!!

I think my friend's doctor told her to wait two or three months before TTC, maybe for all her hormones to get back to normal. Then you take the prenatal vitamin everyday and do the BD!

Re: OK... now what?
I basically went for my 6 month check and when he asked how I was doing on the pill, I said I wanted to stop in order to prepare for having a baby. Then he discussed what I should be doing!
Start taking a multi vitamin with folic acid, excercise, cut back on caffeine, I don't smoke and drink much....
Oh...and then the Dr said have fun trying....

Haaaaa!
That's surely not a problem!
Thanks girls!
When I make my DR appt., should I ask for a few extra minutes to be scheduled for me to discuss any questions I have or do they just expect to have to answer these questions on a regular visit? I don't want to take up too much of his time and make others wait.

Doesn't your doctor do a check-up and then call you into his office afterwards to talk? That's what mine does. I would definately talk to him about ANY questions...you're paying for his time...all those other people can wait!

For those of you that mentioned caffeine - do you know if you are supposed to cut back just so your body can get used to not having it while you are pregnant? OR is it because caffiene in your body actually hurts your chances of getting pregnant?

I don't THINK caffiene affects your chances of getting pregnant. You defintely want to cut it out when you get pregnant, and the months that you try you might be pregnant before you are aware.
I am cutting down now so its not so much of a 'cold turkey' thing when I am ready.
