For those taking pictures before, how much time are you allotting prior to the ceremony starting?

Specifically if you're taking them off site - at a park etc..... TIA!

We did all our portraits b4 the ceremony at the hotel then outside. Probably close to two hours was what we needed then it took 10 mins to get to the temple and went right from ceremony to cocktail hour to reception. It was great b/c we got to enjoy the wedding.

That sounds like a good amount of time. My photographer told me that it would take 2 hours just for pics of me getting ready. I thought that was a little excessive. Was it 2 hours for all of your pics including family?

Our photographers arrived 3 hours before the ceremony, did an hour each of getting ready and then 2 hours of pics with everyone. We then took some night shots of just othe two of us during the first half hour of the cocktail hour after the ceremony.

It really was the best decision, because we got to say hi to everyone at the last half hour of the CH and then party and have fun at the reception.

Oh... no, sorry. That didn't include time getting ready. They took about an hour of us getting ready (we had two photographers). Then they had my husband waiting down the hall for me when we were all ready so he was facing the other way and I tapped him on the shoulder. The fam and friends were around us and the photographers took pics of our reactions then after we hugged, kissed, etc we did the family, wedding party portraits so possibly close to three hours all together.

1-1/2 hours.
That is all the time we have available at the RH where we are also doing the ceremony.

We are doing 2 hours before the ceremony and then we have 1/2 hour before the cocktail hour to finish up.

Well our original photographer said she wants atleast 2 hrs to shoot, and wants to be done 30min before the start of the ceremony. So thats how we figured out our time line.
