**ok panic mode has kicked in***

looking at other posts...I just realized...

Julianne is going to be a yeaer old in TWO MONTHS

I am the type of a person that likes to plan things as well in advance as possible....so Im in shock.

We had about 65 people for her Welcoming Ceremony. I can't possibly have another mega $$ party again...and so soon after the Holidays....and I CAN'T HAVE it in the BACKYARD IN JANUARY!!

ok what am I going to do???

I would just keep it small. Just have family over for coffee and cake.

hm....how about a nice brunch? you can have it at your house and just make a bunch of eggs and potatoes and stuff like that- get a platter of bagels with creamcheese, throw on an urn of coffee, and then have a cake....

brunch is so cozy, and on a cold january day that would be nice!

I totally agree with an 'at home' party. Keep it small. Maybe get a hero along w/ cake... I know that if I didn't feed my family, I'd never hear the end of it!

We're planning a backyard BBQ for Sean's 1st. I'll need to work on a theme as it gets closer.

Good luck!!

hmm...it's close to the end of the holidays too...I think everyone will be in recovery mode then...so maybe i can get away with a small party- but that still will be 15- 20 people.(only counting on 2 other kids...I AM SURE MY NJ CLAN WILL AGAIN NOT BE ABLE TO MAKE IT)
..and even if I made it brunch ( 11am ish?)...they would all LINGER until suppertime anyway.
maybe make it at 3..and order heros and have a cake?

You have to draw the line somewhere or it will get to be a big party fast- and expensive. Since Julianne is still small she will not know any better if you do not have a typical party with a dresses up character like most people do these days. I am saving my money for things like that for years to come when she can really appreciate it. I went to buy things for Annalise's party today, so I had to approximate the # of guests. I kept it to immediate family and our set of 4 closest friends that we see at least 1x a month. The list was already almost 30. I hope with a few negative responses we will be about 20-25. We will have pizza and ice cream cake since that is Annalise's favorite. You will all have a blast watching her try to eat ake and play with wrapping paper. No fancy games are needed at this age either.
I cannot believe her and Julianne are almost a year old. We were due around the same time and I remember our pregnancy posts like they were last month.

yep you girls are right...especially since it is so close to the end of the holiday season...will keep it down hopefully to just 20 or less people...the thing is ..turnout will prob depend on the weather...if we get snow..some close family members wont be able to make it

as far as my NJ family, maybe I should not even SEND them invites...why should I give them another chance to reject me?

maybe im a masochist
