My fi told me when we got engaged, not to ask any of my girlfriends to be in the wedding, until 6 months before the wedding, because he wasn't sure if he wanted all of his guy friendsor just his brother.. Well, I asked them all anyway.. eekk.. now, he's only asking his brother, and he thinks that I should only have my BEST FRIEND Sara... I'm stuck..It would also save us A LOT of money by eliminating them, well, like $2000 and that would help.. WHAT SHOULD I DO???

I am having a similar problem. The only thing I can say.. is be honest. Tell everyone how important they are to you but money is getting really tight and it would look awkward with all these girls and only one guy. My sister was asked to be a BM recently but couldnt afford it... instead she offered to do the reading at the church.. she was still someone important in the wedding.. got to take some nice pictures with the bride and groom.. and it didnt cost anyone anything

That's what I was thinking.. It's a lot of money for them too.. I was thinking maybe just have them pass out programs and ribbon wands for me..

There are so many jobs to be done that you dont even realize. Readings, bubble or rice basket, taking pics at the house when your getting ready, and lots more. I am sure you can find special things for each one of them to do! I am sure they will understand! Good luck!

This is your wedding and if you really wanted your friends to be in then you should go along...you FI will understand...you will only have one wedding,,you might as well live it up to your expectations!!! Many weddings have an uneven # in the bridal party..but its what you want what matters!

I would keep the girls if you asked them already....I think I would just feel kinda weird UNinviting them, and I would feel weird if I was UNinvited...
But if you know feeling s will not be hurt, than not a problem to just keep the MOH and BM...

I totally agree. holly.. But I'm wondering if they might feel even more wierd, being the only other bridal party.. There will be no guys there ya know..

Re: Ok problem, what should I do??
Why would you be saving that much money by not having them in the wedding? Are you paying for their dresses if you did (which if you were that is really nice! but I dont; think they would expect it? Is that normally done in GA?)
Be honest, say that you want them in it but your FH is more comfortable with just a BM and MOH as the wedding party. If they get pissed off, that's their problem.
Good luck!

Re: Ok problem, what should I do??
Maybe I will just ask the girls, that i've already asked, if they would rather, just help me out with programs, and etc. or would they want to be 'IN' the wedding party.. I'll explain that jon is only having his Best Man (brother).. I'm going to say that i want them to be a part of the wedding, but I don't want to feel awkward being the only one's up there.. with now chaperone (sp) walking down the aisle and into the reception.. does that sound good??/

Re: Ok problem, what should I do??
Crystal,
Have you checked around for prices on their Bo-K? The prices I checked were no more than $65....some as low as like $35..i guess it all depends...
And nobody said you would have to spen 100 a girl on a thanks gift...there are a lot of cute things out there for much less....ans you still have some time to shop for bargains....make up your own baskets, etc....
But if you talk to them, explain your situation, they will probably be fine with it...just talk..they love you, they will listen....
