Ok-Since everyone ignored me on my last new topic.
Here's another:
Do you think that you have become closer with a friend or sister during the whole wedding planning. Have you taken it to a whole new level?
If not friend or sister, maybe your mom or someone else?
Tell us!

You are funny...
Um..... I don't know if I have become closer with anyone b/c I am really close with my mother already... We do everything together.
Actually its pretty funny... Since we now picked our band out... My mother said... OH NO what are we going to do now??? I Loved going to go see bands every week!
As for my other friends... I am the first one kind of getting married... So I try not to talk about it that much... bc I don't want them to get sick of me... Eventhough they bring it up all the time... I guess it is just me

Re: Ok-Since everyone ignored me on my last new topic.
you know what they say.... people show their true colors when you're planning a wedding. and truer words have never been spoken!
my 1 sister was always a beyotch, so it was no surprise when she pulled an attitude with just about everything related to my wedding.
my mom was the biggest let down of all. she only started to show any interest in my wedding in the last month or so.
but I have to say... my girlfriend who is also a BM. she is THE BEST!!!!!!!!!!! I don't know where I would be without her help. I just love her to death!

My sister and I both got married two months apart, and that brought us together so much more than I thought we could. We are best friends, but that experience was something I never would have wanted to go through without her.

Re: Ok-Since everyone ignored me on my last new topic.
My SIL....8 1/2 months pregnant and all, she actually spoke up for me today while BM dress ordering. I was so livid at what was happening, I couldn't even speak for fear that I would say something clucked up as I usually do. She started it, and I finished it. And I was surprised that she did it. She has been very cooperative, more so than I thought she would be throughout all of this including my mini bridezilla moments.
My FMIL also has been a great help, but this hasn't been a surprise since she has treated me like a surrogate daughter ever since we've been dating!!
I'm surprised at how my FH's Best Man and his wife who is my BM have been acting. They are extremely slow in returning calls, sometimes not at all. And when we first got engaged, they both said they would help us in any way we needed. I know she's due to give birth in a few weeks, so we haven't bothered with them much, but now that the ball has to be rolling on a lot of things, it's kind of disappointing to find them not calling. Neither one of us really wants to drop the ball on them, but I'm thinking I might have to.

I didn't get closer with anyone. I actually got to see my mom's 'true colors' and they weren't pretty. I learned to appreciate my best friend and MOH a lot more, she did so much more than anyone in my family ever did without being asked. I learned a lot and was able to see that for the most part, my family is really non chalant about a lot of things (and so is DH's for that matter)...I always knew that my wedding only mattered to me and my love, I got to see how true that was. But no regrets or hard feelings...I'm pretty understanding.

Re: Ok-Since everyone ignored me on my last new topic.
I went dress shopping with my FMIL and my fiance's SIL (his brother's wife) yesterday and it was better than shopping with my mother! I have definitely gotten so much closer to his family in general since we became engaged (oh, the power of the ring ) but since we've begun planning the wedding, I've become especially closer with his mother and his SIL.

I didnt see a 1st post...
I got so much closer to my mom and sister. But some other people's true colors really shined through in a negative way.

My sisters helped me out alot during the planning process. I dont think it brought us closer though, but thats only because we were already very close so it was expected that we'd do alot together. I do think that the planning helped me spend more time with my SIL though which was fun.

Although I've always known the true colors of my two maid's of honor, it's really become apparent the past couple of months. I've actually discussed this with my fiancee...I'm disappointed with them both however my mom as always makes up for it all:) I have one bridesmaid who is completely supportive. What goes around comes around!!

I have a maid of honor who is very happy for me but is not into all of the pomp and circumstance of a wedding. My matron of honor has been through it and she is trying to balance her life with her job, home and family. Nobody is bonding with me truly except my mother. The wedding is a diversion to the sadness we continue to feel after losing my father this summer. I am sure it would have turned out the same way but the wedding eases the transition from one stage of life to another for her. She (correction WE) have so much to look forward to and celebrate in Dad's honor.
