OK, So as I told you, I am planning a surprise 50th for both my parents for November. I need any ideas that you ladies can think of? I appreciate any feedback. Themes, colors etc.... My parents have a great sense of humor. So something fun would be great! Also, I am on a budget also, but if you know of a very very cheap dj that would be great! LOL. Thanks ladies!

What about a decade theme? What year were they married? 1980? Do an 80s theme.

Is this for their Bday or wedding anniversary?

I like Jenn's idea about the theme. It's their 50th bdays so why not do a 50s theme?

Like a sock hop? Should I tell Guests to dress up?

That would be cute. Find decorations from 1958 (songs too).On the invite tell them the theme.

For my friends father's 60th bday, they played music only from the 50's and 60's, and since he was born on flag day, they had a whole red white and blue theme. Red, white and blue carnations on the tables, flag pins, red white and blue decorations, etc. They also put a then and now picture on each table. It got guests up and moving and going to each table to see the pics.
