ok so I need help with a few things......

Ok so i went to my FIRST bridal expo at russos on the bay the other day and i checked out a few vendors....has anyone ever heard of classie sounds? what about flowers by brian? Im getting married at russos on the bay and i dont want to spend a fortune on things, any recs on flowers, photography/videographers?. My friends (who have been married) went with duet and proline and they paid 5200 for both video and photos... any feedback would be appreciated, thanks :)

p.s- anyone ever heard of preownedweddingdresses.com? is it stupid to buy a dress someone else wore if im gonna end up selling it after im married? or what about ... Bridalonlinestore.com? real cheap dresses, i called them up and asked why they were so cheap and they said they basically cut out the middleman, and they dont have a store so you purchase it try on at home, if it dosent fit, send it back with a fee of 10 dollars etc...

thank you guyss! :)

I don't know if I would buy a dress online. If you do that, you need to go and try it on in a store for size, and have your measurements taken by a professional.

I am not familiar with the vendors you mentioned, although I hear duet is amazing. Try doing a search on here.

You should check out Flower Michele they really work with your budget, I also have not heard wonderful things about flowers by brian

Check out Flower Barn or Pedestals, they are very popular on here. As for photographer/videographer, check out Thomas Paul, he's very popular, and my photographer. He does great work.

As for the dress, that's up to you and how you feel about it.

I have not heard much about proline studios but I am meeting with them and imagine in a few weeks (the next time I am on long island) so I can let you know how it goes

Expos are overwhelming the first time.. I know!

I would try Burton's bridal and Flowers by Burton (same building) They are down to earth and the cheapest quotes we've found for both flowers and dresses (with alterations). Also, if you see a dresss somewhere else and Burton's Bridal carries that designer, for the most part, they can still order you that dress (cheaper than other places). I almost had them do this for me.

I would be very careful with ordering and sending back dresses. What happens if the dress is damaged during shipping? Also, all those $10 will add up quickly.

For photographers, we saw Duet. They have really nice photos and a lot of good reviews. They just weren't for us. My only advice on the photographers/ videographers --> you have to deal with them ALL day on your wedding, make sure you pick someone you are comfortable with, even if it means they are more $$! We used golden moments they are more expensive if you compare what you are getting between them and duet, but if you don't need/want a lot of 'extras' they are reasonable for the quality and style they provide.

Hope this helps!

Classie Sounds and Flowers by Brian are both Russo's house vendors, they are amazing but a little too expensive for me. I am going with other outside vendors. Shop around for a good deal.

I don't think that I would buy a dress online, only because I am so hard to please. You can defiantly find a dress for less by shopping around or going to a trunk show.

Good Luck!!

I'm using Proline Studios for photo/video. FM me if you want more details.

As for the gown, if you find something you like and you can get it in the correct size, why not? I'd just be concerned about sizing b/c like someone else said, it's all about measurements.

One more question.... sorry guyss lol.
I live in Brooklyn, and I was wonderinggggg if....there are any great vendors in Brooklyn as well? I checked out most of the websites of the vendors you all recommended, and its great! I wanted to see if there were any other great places in Brooklyn as well?

i am using duet and getting photo and video for 4,000 even... which is a really good price. Pick a few of each type of vendor and go, get quotes, and compare them. We could tell u who we liked, but others may hate our vendors and vice versa...

My FH lives in BK and we have checked out 2 florists there that we've liked - Shannon Florist (on Ft Hamilton Pkwy) and Marine Park Florist (on Flatbush Ave). We may also check out Henry's Florist on a recommendation, which is in Bay Ridge on 5th and 81st. Hope that helps!

Fh's cousin had Classie Sounds as their dj. They are really great, but also very expensive. He paid $7,000 for a dj/mc, plus lights. I guess you could do it for less with a less extravagant package, but they seemed a bit pricey for us.

We are using Vinny from High Voltage. He is really nice and his prices are super reasonable. FM me for more info!

i havent check out those vendors so i dont have much to say sorry

but about the wedding dress thing, its up to you just know that there is a lot of risk involoved if you decide to order online, and for me, im very superstitious so i dont want to wear a dress that someone else wore, plus you can get really nice dresses at davids bridal and during samples sales etc that are brand new and just as cheap

Duet is soo great! If you call make sure you meet with Eric.

Imo i wouldn't get a dress online either. I'm horrible at picturing something on me.. i need to actually try it on.

Both of my sons used Classie Sounds at their weddings and they were fantastic. If you decide to use them try to get either Steve or Nick to do your wedding. Good luck!

I went with Tony Ferrari and they are excellent. Excellent service and fair prices if you do not go overboard.

Overall Russo's vendors were all very good and dependable.
