OK SOOOO You have this best friend....

And you cant stand her boyfriend. And thats putting in nicely. They have been together a little over a year, And he is so strange. No one likes him and while that might be ok because I am one who has said 'Hey I don't have to live with them' in the past There is just something bout him. Her parents HATE him and her sister thinks he is strange.

He doesnt speak. Not a hello or a goodbye. We had plans to goto a comedy club tonight. I wasn't feeling good but at the last minute I decided to go Hey what the heck. First we went to my uncles bar which is across the street from the club. We walked in and sat at one end of the bar. He took his chair and MOVED to the middle of the bar and stared at the TV. W T F! She was like whats wrong and he just shook his head as to say 'no'

Then we walked over to the club where we are all laughing so hard and he didnt laugh once. We then came out and he walked on the other side of the street W T F!!!!! While we walked to the car he walked on the other side of the parking lot. Now if this was the only time it happend I think ok they had a fight but he is like this ALL the time.

I got out of the car and said goodnight to both of them and nothing. I looked at her sister and said he is strange and she said I KNOW!

Ive mentioned to her before that he doesnt speak (and she talks to much) and hes rude and anti social and she says hes not when they are at her house with her parents and stuff. I know this is not true Ive talk to her mom before about this. On several occasions Ive gone there and he has not come out of her room he sat there for hours sometimes. I DONT LIKE HIM!!!!

And I guess talking isn't helping. Mike doesnt even want to hang out with him. And Mikes best friend doesnt like him hes only met him a handful of times too.

That's REALLY weird.

Are you close enough to her that you can say something to her about it? That would make me SO uncomfortable. I don't think I'd be able to really hang out with them anymore

Thats how I feel now. I don't want to hang out with them anymore. When I mention it she thinks I am nuts. We have been friends since the 10th grade. She was my MOH we are close But she always brushes it off.

Geez...he sounds like my ex. All I can tell you is the more that your friend hears that people don't like him, the more she'll want to stay with him. She has to come to that decision on her own. Eventually, she'll see realize that he's an unhappy person who's making her unhappy and alienating her from those who love her, and she'll end it. Hopefully, at least.

Jackie you met her. She is an outgoing not shy person. I guess I should just keep my mouth shut and have other plans when it comes to hang out with 'them'

I was wondering if that was who you're talking about. She doesn't seem like the type who would be happy with such an antisocial person for long. You can let her know what you think, but don't get on her case about it, b/c then you'll just alienate her. Just avoid hanging out with her when he's there...she'll get the picture eventually. I know it's hard to do though. I just remember with my ex, the more I heard how my family and friends didn't like him, the more I wanted to stay with him...

He sure does sound like a weirdo but have you made an effort to talk to him? Ask questions directly at him to try to get him to open up. If he still doesn't talk then its time to throw in the towel and find excuses next time your friend wants to double.

This is SO true!! My cousin with whom I am very close is in the same situation. No one likes her BF and he is very anti-social. We don't hang out with them. It's very sad. They've been on and off and right before their first break up, we all let out our true feelings about him to her. She finally broke up with him but a year later was back together with him!! It's terrible because he totally changes who she is.

There is nothing you can say or do except try and be there for your friend and hope that eventually she'll realize this is not the guy for her. Like I said, we CAN'T STAND this guy she's with and we do not hang out with him so it's hard because it does alienate her from us.

I hate when this happens...I have not liked one of my friends boyfriends...It got to the point that my Dh would not go out if her was there. I tried talking to her about it and nothing changed...Thankfully they broke up now but that was almost a year later ...

I think you just have to put up with the weirdness for your friends sake.

what a flippin weirdo!!!

I think you've done all you can here - time to sit back and let her realize what she's gotten herself into. And try reallllly hard not to say 'i told you so' when she finally gets the picture.

There is really nothing you can do. There must be something that she sees in him to be with him.

I totally understand how you might feel uncomfortable hanging out with them. DH and I hang out with a Couple and our conversations are usually a 3 way conversation b/c my friend's Dh is always quiet.
