Things seem to missing around FH's house. I bought him Sensedyne toothpaste last week and put it in the bathroom. Its gone. I left a unopened bag of popcorn here and when I went for it thats gone. We were also missing a spatula and a ashtry. FMIL has an aide but she has been with us for almost 2 years and I thought I trusted her. The other aide only started a few months ago but she doesnt seem like the type of girl who would take things. I dont know if we should confront them both or if maybe we are just misplacing these items. WWYD?

hmmm, well jmo but it seems like the things that you are missing are not things that have great value I mean, I would never want to steal someones toothpaste and a spatula? idk maybe you are just misplacing it. But then again some people today could be really odd lol. But honestly if it were me I definitely wouldn't confront them about it right now, if something big goes missing then I would.

I feel the same way- its just little things that are missing, there is nothing of value gone. But then we dont have anything of value laying around. I thought possible when it came to the ashtray and spatula that one of them broke them and didnt say anything. But its the toothpaste and popcorn thats making me

Whoa that's weird. Is this totally something new? I mean, has stuff gone missing before? If not, I would confront them in a nice way of course, just to see their reactions. Good Luck!

Hmm..maybe she is just putting things in new places, you know? i would not say anything more than..have you seen the tooth paste? But I would def keep an eye out just incase.

just casually mention if they've seen your toothpaste and see how they react. maybe they're putting things in a new place.
and i agree witht the others, keep an eye on things.

ITA that you should casually mention that things are missing. At least tou warn them that you take notice of your belongings. They may be putting things in different places for you but this way they will know that bothers you OR you can tell when something is missing so they don't try to take anything

this is really weird... who steals toothpaste? lol. i would definitely casually mention it without accusing them to get to the bottom of this... and when u do figure out whats going on, let us know.

We thought that they are being misplaced too but I know where I put certain things. How can you misplace a huge bag of popcorn? We also realized last night that a few DVD's are missing too. That we wouldnt misplace - we have a dvd rack next to the tv and they go right back into the rack. I think maybe we have a clepto on our hands but we cant prove it.
