i know i sound like baby and i shouldnt even be entertaing this idea. but i am sitting here in tears cuz i cant decide if want to see fh before the ceremony. SOOO FRUSTRATING. thanks for letting me vent. im tryin to look for pics of first encounters to see if i feel any better but i cant even find those.

I saw on here but cant remember who im sorry a couple who saw eachother before the ceremony and i actually thought it was so touching...They were back to back and the whole bp was in a circle around them cheering the whole time...Well they then turned to look at eachother and both got sooo emotional and started hugging, and everyone was cheering them on...Regardless you know that first moment when you both see eachother will be amazing and a feeling you will never forget...If you have to do it before the ceremony for whatever reasons then dont get all upset about it, you can come up with some special way to do so, maybe you want it to be private...Just dont get yourself sick over it, it wont take away from your day or that moment. Hope you feel better and just look forward to marrying the man of your dreams and the one you will spend the rest of your life with...Seeing him before or after wont change that, think of the wonderful wedding you will have with your loved ones and the memories you will make that will last a lifetime

I completely agree with Denise. I am sorry that this is such a heart wrenching thing that you are going thru, I wish there was something that could make it easier on you. BUT dont let it get you this upset. Seeing e/o before the ceremony is not going to make or break the whole day. Its what YOU want. If you want more pictures and can do with having a beautiful first look at e/o before the ceremony then go for it. Nothing is going to take that first look at e/o away-during ceremony, before the ceremony...that doesnt matter. Its has to be what you want. If in your heart you really dont want to see e/o until the ceremony DO NOT change that for the sake of pictures. You will still have beautiful moments to look at either way. I agree! Don't let if stress you out. Personally, I won't be seeing my FH until I walk down the aisle. Remember, this is YOUR day, not a photo shoot. Your pictures will be fantastic no matter when you take them b/c you will be glowing!

Welcome to my world!!!! I have been agonizing over this for the past couple of weeks!! I think we are just going to go for it and see eachother before the wedding to take pics. Our ceremony is at 7PM at the RH and we are having it in the fall on beautiful grounds with gorgeous colors and our photogs are really trying to get us to rethink the whole 'not seeing eachother before the ceremony'. They said that the photo opps are amazing that time of year and it might be something we regret if we miss any daytime photos we might have had. I thought long and hard about it and I think it will be better to take the pics while we are fresh and it's daylight, rather than after I just cried through a half hour ceremony!!
I just answered another post about this issue... so that was my response.... I think that regardless of what you do... walking down the aisle to your husband will be emotional and amazing- so why not get some great pics before hand... Plus I'll miss him all day

aww sorry this is stressing you out so much. but, like the other girls said, don't let it be this bad for you... it really won't make or break your whole day. even if you do see each other before the ceremony, you'll get AWESOME pictures of the 'first time', and the photographers will be able to set it up so its special and they'll really be able to take the time to make sure they get the best shots of it... we didn't do it, just because we were able to schedule everything ok with time in between ceremony and reception to take pics.... but we had friends who did it, and they were so happy they did. they felt less stressed during the actual wedding and reception because all of the pictures were out of the way, plus they're pictures came out amazing!
ETA: check out the newlywed board!!! there are some great ones on there- perfect shots of their expressions and everything, that you can't really get during the ceremony when theres so much else going on!

DO IT! I'm telling you, it was the best decision and it took nothing away from the day. At least when you see each other before you can talk and enjoy the moment. I didn't even look at DH as I was going down the aisle because there were so many people waving on the way down. It will make your day so stress free and it makes the day seem so much longer too. Look in my non-pro proofs in album, there may be some first encounters.

we're doing is cause we have no gap between ceremony and CH. plus it will calm our nerves...and i like the idea that the moment that FH and i see each other, is private.
