Ok what to do???

Ok what to do???

My friend was married last May (I was a BM in her wedding), when I got engaged I asked her to be a BM in my wedding and John asked her hubby to be a groomsman, both accepted.

She found out a few weeks ago that she was pregnant, I told her that if she was uncomfortable wearing the chosen dress she could pick something else. She said no no dont worry.

This morning we are chatting on instant message and she says 'Stay, I'm going to be 8 months along at your wedding, I dont know how I'm gonna feel, if I had to drop out would you be mad?' I told her absolutely not, if you werent up to it I would understand, dont worry about it'

She then tells me I'll see how I feel in June and let you know then, I said ok no problem.

I told FI and he said 'if she drops out then her husband is going to drop out' We decided that we would ask 2 other friends to stand in their place. Now my question, should we wait until June to see if these two will still be in it or should I ask her flat out (in a few weeks) if they want to drop out?

I'd ask now.
You can always have 2 extra.
Also your wedding is in July so how can you ask in June?

Is is absolutely necessary for you to replace them?

I think it's a sticky situation. If you ask them now, and they stay in things, wouldn't that kinda be a slap to the people that would be their backups?

I dunno...I think you should just go without the extra 2 if they drop out....

Re: Ok what to do???

My friend who was supposed to be in my bridal party told me she was trying to get pregnant. She was giving me the run around... I mean no one WANTS to drop out of someone's wedding ya know? I told her, I think it's best that she's not in it. You NEVER know what a pregnant woman will feel like whether she's 3 months or 8 months pregnant, ya know? It works out better... this way I can continue to go on with my planning and not stress about whether she will be in it or not... She will be my hostess. As for your situation, I think you should tell her if she thinks NOW that she may not be in it, I suggest you give her the OK to say so now... BUT, if you have enough time from June to your wedding, then hold off asking the next two.

Good luck!

OH, you're wedding is in July??? You can't wait until June to ask the next too... Also, the girl who 'dropped' out of my BP, has not been replaced nor will I replace her.

I'd ask now. You can either have two more people or two less. June is too close to your wedding for her to decide especially if she has not ordered her dress.

If possible, I would just have 2 less in the party. Asking anyone now or a month from now can appear as second-fiddle (the 'B' List) - not worth hurting someone else's feelings.

i think i would ask the other two now. chances are if she's eight months pregnant she won't be up to the task. it's pretty stressful being in a wedding party and i can't see wanting to do that if i was pregnant. but anyway, even if they decide to stay in then you have 2 extra people and that's not so bad. it might be nice to have those extra friends around :)

Re: Ok what to do???

The other girl that I would choose is the best man's girlfriend, actually I was talking to her the other day about my brothers wife, who is THE drama queen and is undecided if she is going to be in the bridal party (and let my niece be my flowergirl), the girl said if she drops out I'll take her place if you want, I said 'you wouldnt mind? she said No not at all, so it really wouldnt be like a B list type of thing since she offered herself, maybe we'll just have this girl and forget about the extra groomsman.
