I contacted my church and the restaurant for our reception, they both have my date open, now I need to decide what time do I have the ceremony. I was thinking ceremony 12-12:30pm then we take pics around manhattan from 12:30 to 1:30 and then reception from 1:30 to 5:30 does it sound right? this is sunday afternoon.

Time is of my biggest concerns...you may want to think about the receiving line if your ceremony ends at 12:30 and you want pics to begin at 12:30. I don't know how large your crowd is but I may not have one(receiving line) to save some time!

yeah, we are only having like 57 people and most of them are family, so we will probably skip it.

Maybe start the reception at 2 that gives you a little more time for pictures!

If you want to enjoy your reception you need a little more time for pictures. I would space church & rec like 2/3 hours apart

Definitely give yourself a little more time between the church and reception for pics. You never know what will happen, if your ceremony starts a little late, traffic, weather. I would start your reception at like 2:30 or even 3. People will keep themselves busy, there are plenty of bars to hang out in in the city to kill some time!!

Definitely give yourself more cushion time...ceremonies run over sometimes, so plan on getting out close to 1pm.
Allow at least 2 hours for pictures...calculate travel time too. It takes time to gather everyone up. Can you start the reception at 2pm?

How close are the locations? From picture to church to reception? You're not really giving yourself 'travel' time...
BTW, so excited that you're planning a NY wedding now!

let's see the church is on 80th street on the east side, I figured we could go to central park to take pics and also the metropolitan museum of art since there are in the vicinity. the restaurant is on 40 street on the east side too. I'm so excited too.

I think you are cutting it too close...give yourself at least 15 minutes to get from the picture spot to the church (you don't want to rush and be all sweaty) and at *least* 30 minutes to get from the church to the reception. So maybe do pictures from 10:15am-11:45am... Church from 12:00pm-12:45pm Reception from 1:30pm-5:30pm
You don't want to have to rush...a little cushion is always good!
BTW - your plans sound great, awesome pics!
ETA: Remember that you want to take pictures outside the church and after the ceremony too...
