Okay, I'm a total wuss

Okay, I'm a total wuss

This is so silly-

My little cousins (9, 12, 18) are going to be singing and the two youngest are going to dance a ballet at my wedding.

Uh - is that weird?

My grandmother is so proud of them, she says that their mom says that at one wedding they danced at the people cried because it was so beautiful. I'm like - uhhuh.

Whatever, it's 10 minutes and should make good video. But isn't that funny?

My friend had some dancers in white ballet clothes dance around them during the 1st dance. I thought it was odd at first but it looked nice in the video

I think that is a cute idea and a great way to get your family involved. It is definately interesting but I think very cute.

I can't lie, I think it's a little weird. BUT, it is nice that your little cousins want to do something special for you, and it will make for nice memories.

Yeah, that's why I'm a wuss - I think it's weird too, but my grandmother is *so* set on it and proud of them, and their mother is already putting it together.

Someone wake me when this is over!

i agree that its nice that you are close with your family that they want to do something special for you on your wedding day. but, IMO, its your day. why do they have to do it at the wedding? yes, its very sweet and we all know how our grandmothers can be when it comes to their grandchildren, but i find it a little strange and at my wedding i don't need any sideshows. JMO and pls don't be offended by my rantings.

Oh, are these the same little kids that your grandma 'told' you were going to be flower girls and that their Mom's were going to be making their dresses?

I'm sorry, but to be honest, I'd be a little pissed that my grandma was turning my wedding into a pageant for the little treasures (I'm so sure). But I totally understand and empathize with the being a total wuss part because I also probably wouldn't have the guts to tell her that they should try out for American Idol instead of using my wedding as a talent show.

It will be over fast and I'm sure you will enjoy it. They won't be stealing the show from you, but I'm sure it will be one of those wedding memories people look back on and smile.

Your day is practically here.....don't let something like this get you wound up.

I'm with you Nadine. I wouldn't have it in me to say no.

Just pour me a gin & tonic & I'll put my feet up for a few minutes. . .

One of my BMs wanted me to 'do a number' with all the BMs (most of us are musical/performers in someway) during the reception.

I don't know where she thought I was going to find time to do the choreography.

No, those are other little kids.

See, my grandma has 8 children and about 30-40 grandkids, we're not sure. I'm pretty much the oldest, and she's done tons of things for me (like raise me, send me to a private school and pay for about a third of the wedding), and so I'm real hesistant to tell her no when she's excited about things. Hence the 3 flowergirls and the 3 girls doing a dance. It should be cute, it should be over soon, I guess it doesn't matter that much, and the wedding is in 4 days anyway. It'll be during the open dancing, so it's not taking anything from our spotlight.

However, I did draw the line at a dais table (not having one), and I am coming out at the cocktail hour. Much larger victories.

I do think it is a little wierd - but very cute.
However I MUST tell you - I had one of DH's cousins get up and sing, with the microphone along with the music, I was sitting there like what the ****? I asked my Dh if he knew about this and he said NO!!!!
So it was like Kareoke to wind beneath my wings. PLUS, she was singing it to her husband!!!!
I was very upset.

OK, now I understand - I thought they were going to be dancing during the Ceremony!!!

I'm sure it will be fine - just tell the dj that despite any requests from grandma, there are NO ENCORES!

Have a WONDERFUL wedding!

Ok, I'm gonna be honest - IMO it's weird but I guess when your this close to the date the last thing you want is to argue - just go along with the flow & enjoy your day! I'm sure everything will work out perfectly!
