Okay LI ladies, what is Westbury LI like? (M)

I was at the Westbury Music fair and I thought the town looked very nice. What's the inside scoop on this area? TIA

I dont know much about Westbury besides the shops and malls, but I do know that some of the residential parts of Westbury are 'not so great' areas...

i used to live right across the street from the drive in (when it was a drive in) and it was ok, but my moms bf's car got stolen from right in front of our apartment. Near a very not nice area... but if you go further west like near Hicks and WM and the malls its nicer. (maybe?)

mm Depends where in Westbury we are talking about. Westbury by CW Post area, I know is really nice. $1million+ homes. Then there is an area which is not so nice. But it does have decent areas too. I just never went deep into Westbury only around CW Post and by the LIRR station. It depends on the school district area. But on Post Avenue it looks okay to me.

there's OLD Westbury (mucho $$$$) and then there's nice Westbury, near Century 21 and not so nice Westbury..

and the schools are terrible..

stay away from the New Cassel area of Westbury. The area off of Jericho Tpke is nice... but most of the people over there send their kids to private school.

I grew up in Westbury (the Salisbury area by Eisenhower Park) and went to Clarke HS. It's part of the East Meadow School District, not the Westbury School District. It really depends what part of Westbury you're looking into. You can forum mail me if you have any questions.

I have a friend from Old Westbury, very different from Westbury. He went to private school.

I live in Westbury off of Old Country Rd. Its a quiet neighborhood really nice. I only rent there but I don't think I would ever buy unless I had $$$ to live in Old Westbruy.

I Lived in westbury all my life. i live by the old drive in movies.that area is nice. the not so good part is new cassel. The schools are ok up to the westbury high school where i went i dont recommend it.

Our friend was selling a beautiful colonial off Post Avenue and we almost bought it..until she told us the school was 'okay.' Anyway two weeks later we heard on the news the principal was busted for cocaine use...Westbury school district is not good even though the houses are nice.

I agree with what everyone else said - but depending on where you live, some are zoned for the East Meadow School District, some are Carle Place, etc....so it really depends
