Okay past brides: a poll on bustles

Okay past brides: a poll on bustles

So people are giving different opinions on when to bustle the train (after ceremony, after CH, after 1st dance). I just am wondering for the first dance as husband and wife, how many of you were bustled, and how many were not?

I wanted to keep it unbustled until after the first dance but we quickly realized that since my husband wanted to do some twirling and spinning me around, he would step on it. So I bustled before....

I left it unbustled, and for the most part it looked really nice. I held it on my arm with the loop that was sewn in to keep it on the hanger & it worked out nicely until I went to give DH a kiss & raised my arms up (pulling up the skirt part & exposing the underside of the train).

my dress was bustled and IMO you should get it bustled. I went to my friend's wedding in June, and she had such a hard time all night long trying to dance and move around because her dress did not have a bustle; everybody kept stepping on the dress; she looked unconfortable holding it all the time.

The down side to not bustling it before the dance, is when the first dance is over, you will have to go have it bustled.

ETA: I bustled before I attended my CH and it stayed that way the rest of the night. Except of course when one of my buttons broke.

After the first dance (or 2) there there should be time to bustle it, just tell your Maitre'D & he/she will coordinate this with the MC.
I had my Bridal Attendant look at my bustle before CH to make sure that she would be able to bustle it quickly & in the proper way, so that I would not miss too much

I bustled after. I can't even recall exactly when. I know we danced the 2nd song, and it was still down. I think about 10-15 minutes after, I went outside with DH to have a cigarette and cool off, and I remember the BA and one of my BM's flipping the back of my dress up and doing the bustel. It might have taken them all of 4-5 minutes at the most. I know, when I was done with my smoke, they were all done with the bustle.
