I want to send out the invites 10 weeks before the wedding. Should I set my RSVP at 4 weeks, 5 weeks, or 6 weeks prior to the wedding?
Thanks!

Re: Okay, please answer my poll...
I had my rsvp's at least 6 weeks before the wedding because I know my fiance's family will not rsvp until the last minute

Re: Okay, please answer my poll...
Our invites are going out THIS Saturday. Our RSVPs are to be in by March 15th. This will give us two weeks to let the 'strays' come in. We have to give our vendors final counts by April 1st. I'd say give it 6 weeks.

Re: Okay, please answer my poll...
I set my RSVP to 6 weeks before the wedding.. but I was going to mail them out in the middle of may (12 weeks).
Wedding Date 8/26/06 RSVP date 7/10/06 Mail 5/26/06
I was clueless, so my aunt told me to do it this way...

Re: Okay, please answer my poll...
If you have people on a B and C list and/or people from OOT I would probably send them out early so I as I get the no's I can send the invites to B and C list guests.

No B and C list. But 1/3 of our guests will be OOT

In my experience, the OOT people respond quickly. It's the locals that think they have all the time in the world to respond. I said 4 weeks though because I'm always afraid that if it's too early people will forget the date.

Does that mean 10 weeks is too early to send them out?

10 weeks is fine. We sent our invitations out at least 10 weeks before the wedding. Our RSVP date was 4 weeks before.

When does you hall want to know?
My Hall wanted know about 3-4 weeks before. So I made the RSVP date about 1 week more so I didn't have to be rushed.

I will have my responses 6 weeks before my wedding date because I know I will want to give myself enough time to work on my seating and final headcounts.

Don't send them out too early. I think 10 weeks is the max unless you're sending your invites out at a time when lots of holiday cards are flying around (like me!) If people see they have months until the wedding they are more likely not to respond right away.

I'm doing 9 weeks and 5 weeks - I know there will be stragglers so I want to have time to call them w/o stressing!

No, 10 weeks isn't too early but I wouldn't send them any earlier than that.
I think I sent mine out at 8 weeks but that was only because I decided to reword my invitations at 11 weeks so I had to order another set and wait for them to come in.

I think I'm going to do an RSVP date of 5 weeks prior so we can save our sanity

Re: Okay, please answer my poll...
we did an rsvp date 5 weeks prior to give us some leg room to call late responders and do seating charts and stuff like that
