Okay...I THINK (no...I AM) Stressed...

Original post by ChrissynRicky

I think I'm really stressed/overwhelmed with everything.

It's mainly WORK (98% of the stress) b/c my boss just left for maternity leave and doesn't come back until MAY...(note to self: get knocked up and not work for six months)...So, I've taken on many of the responsibilities and I'm finding it overwhelming to plan the wedding, get things done, the Holiday's, lack of money....

I'm breaking out with effing pimples - little ANNOYING ones under the skin, my back, neck, and shoulders hurt, and I'm losing sleep....

AND...I'm taking it out on poor little Ricky who wants to help, but I don't know how to have him help....

PLUS - I don't want to SHOP - W T F is that about????? I always turn to shopping to alleviate the stress...ain't working.

Okay, feeling better now....thanks for letting me 'spill'

AM I THE ONLY ONE???? It seems like it's IMPOSSIBLE to work full time and plan an effing wedding!

First, take a deep breath. Secondly, you're not alone AT ALL! I, like you, usually use shopping as an outlet for stress of any kind. This year however, I'm finding it a nuisance that I have to go shopping for Christmas. It's like I know I have a whole year of shopping for various expensive items for the wedding ahead of me and anything additional is just adding to it. The work stress and the home stress just adds up and needs an outlet obviously. The only thing that is working for me is being on my treadmill when I get home. I've been taking it out on Craig and I think it's because he's trying to fix something that isn't exactly broken...just on a different track (if that makes sense). Regarding your job stress and everything else, I know this is cliche but you will be amazed at how you will handle it and how things will just fall into place. I'm sorry I'm not more helpful but you're definitely not alone!

You are so not alone Christine. My face is also breaking out. UGH!!! It's now 6:24 PM and I'm still at work (which for me is highly unusual, I'm generally much more efficient than this). I did laundry Sunday night for the first time in a month. I have a stack of bills that need to be paid, if only I had the time to write the checks. Wedding planning is a full time job, on top of the full time 9-5 job we all have. I know of what you speak with your boss being out on leave for 6 months, although in my case it is a fellow attorney who gave notice, and has specifically asked that his more difficult cases be assigned to me (although it is a nice compliment, it is still ).

As for shopping, I usually take off one day in December to get it all done. This year, give me E-bay or some such thing. Every time I hear x-mas music or see a x-mas decoration I cringe. I don't want to shop for anyone, not even my very adorable 5 month old niece/goddaughter who should be spoiled! The family mentioned something about only shopping for the baby this year and skipping all the adults since we are too old for this stuff, and I think I'm going to take everyone up on it and steer clear of the stores and not get a single thing!!

Okay, now I'm done ranting. Time to go home!!

OK.....deep breathe! Oh yeah... exhale too! Don't let it get to you! Just because all the stores start holiday stuff WAY early doesn't mean you are going to have an empty tree! (or menorah for some ).

You're not alone! I know exactly how you feel, as many of us do....

I've come to the determination though that what happens is going to happen and that in time things will all come together!

I know people who have put together elaborate weddings within just a few months, so I know it can happen! Just take a deep breath, and do the best you can do!

I hear you! We are understaffed so I have worked almost every week since August, have had very few days off, unless they were vacation days (which were spent running around trying to catch up on the things that I can't get done while I'm overworking, making them anything but restful). The few that I do have turn into 'Can you come in a few hours to cover lunches?' Trust me I'm loving the OT, but my FH and I barely get to see eachother to do any planning!

Ugh...I am so stressed too! I'm taking 3 classes, teaching 2, and working the rest of the time. I am working on my 3rd paper in 2 weeks! At least there are only 3 more weeks, then I will be done with classes for the rest of my life!!

You are not alone Christine!!!

I feel the same way....sometimes I feel like canceling my big wedding and just going to Vegas !!!! lol.....

Between the wedding plans, work, holidays and trying to furnish & renovate a big house I just want to scream!!!!

I don't know how you manage to do so many things on your own!!! I want to save money too but don't have the patience or nerves to do so......

that is why I love LIW, we can let it all out and get great advice & support from our fellow 06 brides!!!
