I just went over this with FH this am. I told him yesterday that you do NOT tip the owner (even if they are the one at the wedding) and he didnt believe me. He then called one of his friends who works with a photographer and his friend confirmed that you DO NOT tip the owner.
We are going to tip 2 of our vendors who are owners, but not a huge tip (between 50-100)

yeah...all of our vendor are the owners of their business. Then again...not sure if the owner of the limo company is driving the bus....

So does this mean I don't tip my photographer himself, but I tip the asst and the 2nd photographer and videographer? Now what about hair & makeup? do you still tip even if the cash is going directly to them? I would hate to be the one bride that doesn't and then they would think i was awful and cheap! ugh!
oh and edited because I need to know if you tip the band and if so how much?? They have 8 people in it

I googled the whole tipping issue - who to tip, how much, etc. right before my wedding. From everything I read it said that you do not have to tip the owner of a business. However, I truly think this is up to you and what you are comfortable doing.
It was suggested that in lieu of cash, you can give the owner of a business a good bottle of wine or champagne, a box of chocolates, a gift basket or some other such thank you / appreciation gift.

Yeah my photographer is the owner, and so are the DJ's. Hmm...I guess I will give them something. Do you tip the florist? We are using the recommended one for our hall and he is IN Fox Hollow!
