Ok...when do you go for a marriage license

And what do you need to bring?

No more than 60 days before, you need two forms of ID. I brought my passport, my birth certificate (original with raised seal) and had my driver's license just in case.

ETA:: Eek, yes, the hall we went to required $40 in cash, so we made sure we had exact change on us! Forgot about that...

we went a week and a half ago-
Fh was born in another country- so we had to bring his naturalization papers/birth certificate/passport/drivers lic. and SS card

I brought birth cert, drivers lic. passport, and SS card

and 40.00

It depends where you go to get it.

You cannot get it more than 60 days in advance and not less than 24 hours from the time of the ceremony.

I got mine in NYC and all we needed were our drivers licenses and a $35 money order.

Some town halls on LI require birth certificates too.

The Town of North Hempstead was great Kathleen. When we had an issue with our license (not filled out properly by the officiant), they contacted us immediately and possibly prevented us from having to wait a year by holding it before they sent it to the state. I was on a first name basis with the lady in charge over there.
