I am trying to find an old fashioned reception hall, that is not too flashy but has that antique touch to it. Oheka Castle is too much money, great place but you can get the food and service anywhere else (I work there) I am looking for something for about 200 people, roomy, has class, about $20,000 -$30,000 range ($65-$100 a plate) and just gorgeous. If anyone has any ideas please let me know. Thanks.
A friend of mine visited there and tried the food, too. Loved it. I think it was built in the 1920s.
(I think the max there is 150, though -- sorry)

I am getting married at the Swan Club and it was an old house that the family use to live in.

Take a look at the Bourne Mansion, it's run by Lessings, http://www.lessings.com It's a 100 year old mansion with tons of character and what I think is the best ballroom around : ) Here is a pic...
Westbury Manor. It was built in the 1880's and the Nassau Cty Historial Society uses it for functions

The Inn at East Wind is decorated to have an old victorian feel. Also try the La Grange in West Islip. It has been around for years. If you want a price per person for the East Wind FM me.

try majestic gardens or mediterrean manor
I second Majestic Gardens- we went to 11 places I think when we were looking and ended up going to Majestic Gardens. I think you'll like it. Good luck!

Re: Old Fashioned reception hall
Definitely check out the Stewart Manor Country Club. The fact that it does not look like a catering is one of the reasons FH and I picked it.
www.stewartmanor.com
Don't go by the pictures on the website. It is so much nicer in person.
We are paying 65 pp before tax and Grat
