Old Field Club
Hi. I went to visit the Old Field Club over the weekend and LOVED it. The only problem is that I don't feel like I'm getting as much food for my money as at other halls. For the cocktail hour they only give passed appetizers and they don't provide a wedding cake? Can anyone who has been to or had a weeding there could give me feedback about the food and if enough was provided? I feel like even if I upgrade to a few food stations, it still wouldn't be comparable to other places?

Re: Old Field Club
Hi! We're getting married there this Fall - they don't provide the normal feast at the cocktail hour, but we were ok with that. For the most part, so much food is wasted anyway. The owners expressed to me that the wait staff continually passes food around, so it should be fine. We're also adding a pasta station. At first I was disappointed that they didn't provide a cake, but then realized that I could use my cousin's cake lady, who is amazing. So then I was happy to have the option - although you have to pay the additional $$$ for it!
The only other wedding I attended there was my cousin's back in '95, and I remember it all to be wonderful - she's even referred many of her friends to this hall, so I am confident they'll do a fantasic job!
Let me know if you have any other questions

Re: Old Field Club
HI. The Old Field Club is my top choice so far. I was never there for a wedding, but I have heard ony good things about their food. If I booked there I would probably add a one or two stations.

Is that the Old Field Inn? Thought that that is what it was called. My mom lives near there.

Re: Old Field Club
It's in a residential area just north of SUNY Stonybrook and 25 A. Most haven't heard of it unless they live in the area - that's partly the reason we booked there
I love that it's a little different.

Re: Old Field Club
We booked OFC. We were concerned as well, but Tim assured us we would have plenty. Like Terri said, most of the food at cocktail hours is waisted. We ordered the carving station, wok station & cheese & fruit tray. My wedding is in 2 weeks, so I'll let you know!

Re: Old Field Club
Thanks for all of the info. I think I am going to book it, and not worry about the amount of food. The atmosphere makes up for it!!!
