OLD FIELD CLUB Brides!

I was just there Thursday for our tasting....I didn't see any construction or hear of anything about a bathroom. The bathrooms there are realy outdated but the rest of the place makes up for it!

The tasting was awesome!! I am getting more and more excited!

I'm getting married there in Sept. and I didn't hear anything at all about them installing a bathroom in the bridal suite. Honestly, the bridal suite & the bathrooms could really use some help but that being said it didn't take away from everything else the place offers!!! I am SO happy with our decision!!!

What are you ladies doing for centerpieces there? I am at a loss with this part of the planning!!!

Great, thanks Ilana!! Can you also find out if they have plans of updating their regular bathrooms too?? I would imagine that they would have plans for that because they are a little outdated. Have fun at your tasting!!!!!!

I was going to contact OFC to ask about the tasting. How did you guys set that up? Is it only you guys or is it a group?

MikesBride2B - Are you going for a second tasting or is this your first? I was wondering if they would allow a second once you finalize the menu?

The host dinner parties on some Friday nights for their members that they invite you to come to. When we went they set us up by ourselves in the CH area. It was nice! I believe they ask you to pay for the dinner unless you've booked and if you do book they credit it to your cost.

Where is everyone setting up the dance floor??
Am I crazy to want to set it up in the middle of the room?

How are you forming tables? Did anyone create a digital floorplan that we can add the tables and names to? That would be cool!

This will be my first and only tasting...I don't think they do a second. We will get to order whatever is on the menu for the members that night, negotiate our menu, meet the chef, etc...I am so excited

So you have to pay for the tasting?
I would love to be able to get a digital image of the table layout. I will inquire about that.

I just went for my tasting on Friday night and it was great. Matt took us around the place again just to go over where everything would be. Then he set us up in the bridal suite and we had a sampling of everything that was on the menu for the members that night - pasta, salad, filet, salmon and lamb chops. It was all really good! It doesn't cost anything, but we tipped out waitress.

Also, you can either plan all your stuff out then (menu, linens) or just make another appointment to come in. We are planning on doing it next month!

We are also keeping the dance floor at the end near the bar. We felt that it would keep the room more elegant looking and also not as loud so people who weren't really looking to dance would be able to hold a conversation. Also, we felt with the bar there & the doors open to the outside we'd have the younger crowd down there anyway. We also invited 165 and are expecting most to show so we would never have had enough room to move the dance floor to the middle of the room.

I love the table layout idea!!! Does anyone know if they set tables for 8 or 10? I never asked that!

I believe they can do anywhere from 8-12.

We did our dance floor in the center with 12 tables of 8-12 people. It looked beautiful and made everyone more a part of the action. I would definitely go for it if you don't have much more than 125 guests.
