Has anyone had a Friday night wedding (or attended a Friday night wedding as a guest) at Old Field Club? I wanted to have a Saturday night wedding..but to cut costs FH and I are thinking of a Friday night. I know that Sunday is an option...but we would prefer a Friday or Saturday night wedding. My one concern is all of the rush hour traffic that guests may encounter going out to Setauket on a Friday night (from Westchester, Queens, Nassau). Has anyone had a Friday night wedding at Old Field Club...and if so...was traffic a problem for your guests?? Also...was traffic a problem for the bridal party to get out there (if you didn't have your ceremony at OFC) to have enough time for photos?? We're getting married in Nassau County at 3pm...the mass will probably be over by 4..and then we would head over to Old Field for a 7pm reception. Please help!

We are getting married at the OFC on Thursday, July 1.. we are doing a 3 pm church ceremony in Seaford and a 7 cocktail hour.. i think that is plenty of time to take pics and enjoy cocktail hour.

Thanks for your reply! Are you worried about rush hour traffic for your guests at all? I would book a Friday in a heartbeat..the only thing I'm worried about is the traffic for my guests.

no Im not stressing about that...I sent out save the dates...people will be off (teachers) and those who aren't will take a half day...it is 4th of july weekend so people are excited to take a long weekend.

I think I just need to relax about this situation. My mom thinks that I'm unnecessarily worrying about this. She says not to worry about the traffic and that everyone will get there okay. I think I just need to chill out!

I looovvvveeee the OFC b/c it doesn't feel like a catering hall. The ceiling, chandeliers, windows and views are amazing! I heard only wonderful things about their food and service. They are a little bit more per plate but nothing crazy...when FH and I went to another venue and they had a roll out bar...I was certain my search for a venue was over OFC it is!!!!

ITA!!! It is unlike any other RH I look at...either in person or online. I absolutely love it there!!
