I only looked at Old Field Club online, but I love that venue. If I could have had it there, I would have. It looks incredible.

I went to my friends wedding at the Old Field Club and it was really nice....the cocktail hour was gorgeous- right on the water and seriously the cocktail hour was more like 2 hours- which is fine i love CH food- we had a fun time.

I am getting married at the Old Field Club and I love it! It is perfect if you are looking to have a simple yet elegant wedding on the water.

we went to a wedding at the oakdale mansion..it was really nice...it had that classic charm about it. It was really warm in there though...also they ahd to move the ceremony indoors and the staff never prepared the atrium for the ceremony so they ended up having it in the reception room.

Also they ended up having a food that the bride expressed that she was allergic to...she needed to go to the hospital!!!

I bet it was a freak thing but still...other than that the wedding was wonderful! we had a grea t time!

I've never been to the Vanderbilt, or looked into it at all, so I can't comment on it. I'm sure it's lovely though.

I'm getting married at the Old Field Club next September and it's really amazing. It's very classy, elegant, and right on the water. It definitely has an intimate feel, which was what we were looking for. If you have any specific questions about it, definitely send me a FM!

I think your decision shouldn't be too hard once you check them both out. I'd imagine a mansion vibe would be much different than a smaller country club. Think about how many people you'll be having, what you want your pictures to look like, and hopefully you'll have a clear idea of what you want.

Best of luck!!!
