Old Field Club Review

Old Field Club Review

We took a trip down to the Old Field Club today. Unfortunately, it did not meet our expectations. I was a little weary at first because the Banquet Manager was very quick on the phone. We got lost on our way there and when we tried to call, we were connected to about 4 different people before reaching someone who could help.
The scenary at the Old Field was beautiful. It is right on the water and very quaint. The dining room was pretty small but we are planning on having something small, so that was fine. The ceremony is held out on the lawn overlooking the sound. The pictures that are on the website are pretty accurate.
The MAJOR turn off for us was that if it rains, they move the reception tables out and set up the ceremony in that room. That makes me very uneasy because that would mean complete chaos the day of. I think it makes for a beautiful place for a wedding but we just don't want to set ourselves up for an anxious day.

I think thats what would happen at most places where the ceremony is outside. If it rains they have to bring it in and have it in the dining room/dance floor/etc...

Yea I have heard of them using the reception hall. A lot of places have other alternatives that makes things easier. One place had a tent for rain, another had a chapel.

Most places we went to did that, then they would turnover the room. They are professionals, I am sure they can handle it. It all happens during CH so you never really see them changing the room over.

I had a similar experience with OFC. The venue is beautiful but I felt that the BM was very unatentive, unfriendly and unwilling to answer my questions forthcomingly.
