Old Field Club vs. Smithtown Landing

I'm having trouble deciding between the Old Field Club and Smithtown Landign for my wedding venue - targeting ~150 people in the Fall...has anyone held a wedding (or attended!) at either place? Thanks!!

I have been to both...

have you gone to visit both places? There are a lot of differences between them- i think their cost is pretty different too...

I personally think that the ball room at Smithtown Landing might hold more people more comfortably then OFC- the rooms are set up very different at Smithtown Landing, the dance floor is more in the middle, and usually at the OFC, they set the dance floor up in the back by the bar (but i have seen them set it up in the middle as well)

OFC has the water, Smithtown Landing has the golf course... both have beautiful places to take photos... I also personally think that OFC's food is a bit better- but but that is just my opinion- I had great times at both places- i dont think you can go wrong with either venue...

I hope that helps!

Re: Old Field Club vs. Smithtown Landing

My FH brother's wedding this past June was at the Smithtown Landing-the golf course-to make sure I am talking about the same one. I thought photo ops there were very limited. There is also limited privacy. Club members are coming and going and people are playing golf during the cocktail hour. It was strange for me. The food was good but if I remember correctly-small portions. It was also difficult to find where to go and if it is dark, it will be that much worse. I wasn't crazy about it but it was not terrible.
good luck
