Old Lahaina Luau vs Royal Lahaina Luau

I have seen both of these Luaus advertised i checked addresses to make sure they were different,
OLL i have heard is the best and most authentic,
RLL i have seen online with discounts when you also do another activity

what are your opinions if you have been to either, i was told to book my activities early cause we are going to HI near Christmas

any help is greatly appreciated, thanks

i did the oll
-there are a lot of people that attend
-they sell crafts there
-they unearth a pig
-you sit with other people
-if you sit up front, you can sit on pillows on the floor (i don't rmember what that was called)
-the food is a buffet and was pretty good-
-they had someone there who takes pics that u could buy
-it's outside
-there is a hula show


i also did the feast at lele
-the food was really good
-we had a table to ourself (we booked early)
-there were less people-more intimate
-the show was 'smaller'
-was outside-behind the stage was the beach
-was a sit down dinner

I went to the RLL and did exactly the same thing. It's beautiful and quite a show!!!

If you decide on the OLL book way in advance. I just got back from my HM and when I called to make a reservation that luau was already booked until the end of August. We were so disappointed!

I went to the OLL - 2003 gave a great summary. The only other luau I have been to was at the Four Seasons in Maui, it was smaller, less of a show.

I think if you book with either one you will get a feel of what it is all about, I don't think you can go wrong!
