Old Testament Reading..

Hey Girls!!

We met with our priest today (he is SO amazing). We went over ceremony planning~my brother in law is doing the 1st reading, and mentioned a reading he would like to do.
While this reading is in the Old Testament, it's not typically offered for wedding mass. It's a bit 'radical' considering it's between 2 women. Our priest was all for it though
FH and I are not super religious and we had a hard time finding readings we could relate to. FH and I think this is absolutely beautiful, I figured I'd share it with you:


A Reading from the Book of Ruth 1:16-17

And Ruth said, “Urge me not to leave you, or to return from following you; for where you go, I will go; and where you lodge, I will lodge; your people shall be my people, and your God is my God. Wherever you die, I will die, and there we will be buried. May Lord do so to me, and more also, if anything but death parts me from you.

This is the Word of the Lord.

Oh wow that is a really nice reading and different from all the suggested ones i have seen on the web..i like it alot

I love that reading and our priest said we could use it too. Then I read the whole thing and realized that she is talking to her MIL and I thought 'not very appropriate for my MIL issues!'



But I wish I could get past that and use it - it's one of my favorite quotes in all of the bible!

My priest suggested I pick one and when I read it it said something like 'a silent wife is a gift from the lord' uh HELLS no.. I'm anything but silent
