Older moms

I just wanted to know advice/comments from doctors to older moms.

I'm really starting to worry (my sis in law just had a baby) & I'm really in a 'baby frame of mind' HOWEVER, we are not even engaged at this point. We are talking about being married summer of 2006. I'll turn 36 that summer & although we agreed to start trying immediately (honeymoon). I'm worried.....

Re: Older moms

I used to work with a woman who just got married. She's 39 and was worried and her doctor said 'Don't wait too long because you might want to have 2.' My friend was really happy to hear that. I work with another woman who had two healthy kids when she was in her 40s.

Re: Older moms

My cousin had her first at 39 and is about to deliver her second at 41. She conceived naturally. She had to be on bedrest for a bit, but that happens with young women as well.

Re: Older moms

My Mom had me shortly before her 37th birthday. I was the first child she said I was conceived the first month of trying. The summer vacation planned that year for 'trying' was not much fun because of morning sickness!

So many women are conceiving in their late thirties and early forties nowadays I don't even consider 36 old enough to worry about. Best of luck to you !!!
