OMG

OMG

My name is Laura and I am a scrapbook addict
and I blame the ladies of LIW for adding to my obsession...

So I am in Michael's tonight after work ( and yes I drove at least 20 minutes out of my way to check out a different store )

So here I am armed with my coupon trying to figure out what I am going to buy-- and wouldn't you know I spent at least 10 minutes staring at the Sizzix machine--- what the heck was I thinking? or was I not thinking ? cause I distinctly remember pointing the display out to DH a month or so ago saying that some 'crazy' people actually have this machine--- Ugh now I want one (read whine in voice)

I blame you ladies entirely--especially Lisa---
So no Xyron machine for me--although I am sure after I purchase the Sizzix I am going to need the Xyron as well---

BTW-- I used my coupon for the Heat Gun that I have been looking at for weeks---so it wasn't a total lose!!! and of course bought more paper(10 for $1) and stickers (which I don't need but couldn't resist!!!!)

Please help my addiction

Oh yeah so the point of my post-- If i buy the machine-- where do I get it/ How much should I spend? where can I get dies cheaper, etc---

Laura;

I got a Xyron at Michaels that came with a 3 refill cartridges for different adhesives, but later saw that Joann Fabrics has one on sale for $39.00 - you only get one cartridge, but it seems like a good price.

I am really sorry to get you so addicted but its not like I get a kickback from Michaels or something!!! LOL

Welcome to my world!!!

Re: OMG

Lisa-- didn't even think about the kickbacks!!!

So what should I pay for the machine? The price seems to vary wherever I look-- you have had yours for awhile right?

Anyone have any idea?

Not sure how I am going to hide it from DH though!!!

what are these machines? but maybe I don't want to know...

Re: OMG

Laura; one thing I noticed when looking was that the 510 seems to have different 'kits'. Michaels had one that retailed for $99 but I got it for $49 with the 50% off coupon and it has a regular cartridge, a double sided cartridge, and the magnetic cartridge. I later saw one at Joann's that was $39 on sale, but only had the regular cartridge. That makes it hard to compare the prices, since they seem to have different extras included.

As for hiding it - can you sneak it in and tell him not to peak - it's a Christmas present

Re: OMG

Erica - Lisa turned me on to these - it's a machine that puts an adhesive backing on anything from die cuts to photos to full sheets depending on the size you buy.

the little one, about $10, is for things about 1' square. The 510 handles up to 6 or 8 inches, and the 900 series handles full pages, though I don't recall if that's 8-1/2 or 12'.

Re: OMG

the 900 does up to 8.5 inches wide and the 1200 does up to 12 inches wide!!

Laura...Im really not swure how much the machine retails for but check this website for the BEST prices!!

Re: OMG

So far, this is the only thing I don't feel I need. DH is hoping this stays that way

Re: OMG

I'm intrigued by it but not enough to really seriously think about it yet - (keyword= yet:D)

One of my friend has it and loves it. She uses it for felt and I think fabric.

Re: OMG

It's a personal die cut machine. They have dozens of shapes and several alphabet styles you can punch out to use on your layouts & cards.
